"Solid file sharing tool"

The platform is very stable and tooling to address a very wide range of permission and access controls. Also the ability to specify data storage location per folder, and server-side file-level encryption are really useful for complex needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Files.com?

I don't have anything meaningful to say that I dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Not cheap, but complete."
What do you like best about Files.com?

Files.com provides a very flexible product that is almost guaranteed to satisfy your file transfer needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Files.com?

Files.com is more expensive than other alternatives. They tend to buy competition instead of lowering their price (e.g. exavault purchase in 2021) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Launch, Implement, Fast, Scalable and Fun!! The Only Cloud Integration tool you need!!"
What do you like best about Files.com?

This multi-platform, single sign-on, file asset automation, Hybrid Cloud Integration site is the Champion in the media space. Files.com provides value with the infrastructure that solves the "issues" accossiated with file management and allows us to stay connected to all our cloud environments and on-prem resources without security risk to our network or assets. Files.com is a MUST!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Files.com?

There is nothing I dislike with Files.com. Files.com puts it's Admin users in the Drivers seat this allows us to customize user permissions and access points. Additionally the staff is always friendly, fast to respond, and open to innovative ideas or suggestions that their clients may have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Product - Terrible Support"
What do you like best about Files.com?

Easy to use API for account management. Allows us to quickly provision and de-provision users using nothing more than a script

Customer-facing branding options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Files.com?

They keep reneging on our contract, charging us for users that are not active or have been deactivated. We have several times had to reach out to get our account credited due to poor billing.

API Has changed several times without an announcement. When we reached out about these issues to our account rep, we were told that the API changes were the "intended behavior", even though the documentation did not reflect that.

When negotiating the contract, we had to reference everything that was promised to us in writing, as the account manager would often forget the terms of the contract due to not taking notes, or tell us that we were wrong about the details of the contract (even though we had it in writing)

New "per seat" account model doesn't work with our use cases Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Adam OBrien of Files.com

Hey Caleb - Thanks for taking the time to review your experience using Files.com. It's always great to hear the Files.com platform is helping to make the transfer of files from one place to another easier.

Regarding your feedback around the API and contract: I am sorry for the bad experience that you have had. I would like to try and square things up - I have forwarded the information along to both our product team and our leadership team for review. They are currently looking into the API issues you outlined above to see how we can do better in the future and to mitigate any technology issues.

We have also recently brought on a formal billing team for Files.com. Those team members are working through billing discrepancies, such as the one you outlined above, and making it a priority to ensure that what you are being billed for is what you expect to be paying.

If you are open to it, I would love to setup a time for our team to connect with you and work through how we can make things right for you and your team. You can reach out to our team via our support portal (linked below) at anytime as well.

"Easy to use, strong feature set, responsive support."
What do you like best about Files.com?

The platform functions both as a programmatic solution and has an easy-to-navigate web UI for more casual management, which is extremely useful in bringing on new internal users and managing small one-off tasks.

You can create a public share, set file expiration (per folder) easily, and setup encryption all at the press of a button. I've only had to go to their support team on a small handful of occassions and always received a same-day response. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Files.com?

I have seen many VPNs often block the solution without specific whitelisting, which is not typical for many sites. Not clear what triggers this but it has come up more often than I would prefer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Adam OBrien of Files.com

Hey Derick - Thanks for taking the time to review Files.com. It's always encouraging to hear that our platform is helping to make file transfers easy and your outlined examples are no exception.

I am going to get your feedback regarding troubles with VPS + whitelisting over to our team to see if there's a way we can help get the issue sorted out permanently. In the mean time, you can submit a ticket request via our support portal to get the support request submitted (link below)
