742 Stack Overflow for Teams Reviews
My favorite aspect of the platform is the seamless integration with the regular Stack OverFlow experience. It is very easy to navigate to and from public stack exchange accounts and posts and private team posts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike that the free version of an account flags the account for deletion after a relatively short period of inactivity. I understand that you need to garbage collect unused accounts (particularly when they are unpaid) from time to time, but I think the window length could be a little more forgiving. Unlike confluence pages, or slack messages, there is a level of discussion when you're in Stack Overflow for Teams which is laser focused on the issue.
Searching for an issue in slack or MSTeams is impossible, and even if you find an answer you can't be sure it's correct. The "accepted answer" in SOfT (StackOverflow for Teams) is crucial in highlighting where the correct information lies.
I also love the fact that all content needs to be reviewed for freshness on a regular basis, and I love the gamification of the whole problem, which incentivates people to be active participants.
The ability to have long-form articles that are also used as search targets makes sharing of information all the more valuable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While searching on SOfT is better than searching in Slack or MSTeams, the search capabilities are still somewhere between terrible and tragic.
What works really well in the regular SO, is that one can use google to search a problem, and then Google will find the answer in SO. Try the same string in SO itself, and you get... nothing.
Now, if you look at the reason why SOfT exists in the first place, it is to prevent "external players" (like Google) from accessing your Q&As and Articles, keeping the company IP safe.
That plays against you since searching in SO is quite ineffective. If the they could step up their search abilities, SOfT would be the "perfect" product. Right now that's their Achille's heel. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

All software engineers end up at StackOverflow at some point or another. It's part of our DNA and we are used to this tool. Now we can build our internal documentation without effort, just by doing what we have done.
The gamification aspect of it is a huge incentive for workmates to collaborate and the search capabilities are as good as the public site. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The QA format can some times lead to obsolete entries. Curating the right answers either proactively or while searching for solutions to problems is the not that nice aspect of this tool. However this is not a huge problem in my experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It has the well-known StackOverflow flair. Helpful answers rise to the top. A big plus over standard StackOverflow: tagging a few knowledgeable colleagues. Feels less formal and much more interactive than a wiki. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The search does not feel great in the start, that might be due to the fact that it shows a minimum number of matches. With very few entries seemingly unrelated questions are shown. Not sure if gamification increases the work ethics of everyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Almost everyone is already familiar with the Stack Overflow interface, so there are no long learning curves. It is an excellent forum to ask and get answers, especially useful in a company like ours that is all remote. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing to dislike about Stack Overflow, but it would be nice to have a tool or plugins that can search both SO and other internal company documentation (like Google Drive) from a single interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

You can track every old issue related to our team so new comers could benefit from it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really don't think there is anything bad, what could possibly be bad at something that tracks your issues Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that you could reach out to different teams directly, instead of waiting for someone to randomly see you post by chance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When merging my personal StackOverflow account with my Teams account, I'm still having issues with changing my profile pic on my personal account. It's buggy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is easy for new users to get started using. It also makes documenting processes and solutions very easy to do and understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I currently do not have anything that I dislike or have any pain points with StackOverflow for Team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I liked the feature of tagging the specific person to ask the question to get direct attention to make my life easier. I really hope it's the best for your team Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So I can't say anything that I didn't like the stackover teams. It's easier, more helpful and the best in all ways Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Through the years we have had repetitive questions being asked in chats. Stack Overflow for Teams has allowed us to move those questions to Stack Overflow where our developer colleagues can first search for their issue before creating a new question. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's only one little minor thing that I'm missing from Stack Overflow for Teams, which is customization. It (currently) only allows for setting a single accent color in Light or Dark theme. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
