What do you like best about Xref?

I like the fact that all references are hosted in one spot without us saving to other areas, complete time saver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Not really anything, it's a very easy system to use! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Xref solving and how is that benefiting you?

I like the fact that they verify all references, and when a reference is a fraud, they alert me about it. I also like the fact that they notify me when the references have not responded, and when they have been completed. They do all the work, and do not allow anything to slip through the cracks. What do you like best about Xref?

I enjoy how easy it is for referee's to complete their references. It's also great that the candidate is reminded to input their referee's details. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I dislike that Xref stops sending email reminders after a certain amount of time.

I also wish we were provided with the option to send SMS reminders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In regard to your comment about reminder emails, we try to be mindful about how we send reminders. Our current process has been tailored to ensure enough emails are sent to communicate the actions required without overwhelming the recipient.

What do you like best about Xref?

Xref frees up a large amount of time to focus on the important tasks such as sourcing candidates in a tight market. I can’t imagine having to do 60 + references on top of my existing workload. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In regards to your comment on personal references, this option is entirely up to the employer to allow. We recommend professional references as an industry-standard, but we do realise that in some cases this may be difficult.

We know how difficult and frustrating it can be to try and contact references by phone, so it’s great that you’ve been able to recognise the benefits of an online process. Thanks again for your recommendation!

What do you like best about Xref?

Ability to have such a lengthy process moved online. Love that our candidates can really control the process of their references. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xref?

Sometimes the delay of the candidates inputting their details, but this is not XRefs fault. It would also be nice to know why a reference was declined by a referee, perhaps having a reason which is submitted by the referee? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Absolutely would refer anyone to XRef. It's a simple to use product and very effective. It is a safe product to collect personal information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Verification & level of detail the referee can go into, as opposed to hearing, typing and editing following me being off the phone to the referee. Time saved for us as recruiters is fantastic - we are never playing phone tag with very busy referees and we can get onto the rest of our role while a critical part of the recruitment process is being taken care of in the background. What do you like best about Xref?

The most helpful aspect of Xref is that its entirely email driven, references are in print form and able to be held onto in the referees own words. There is also no need to schedule phone calls around busy schedules or less than willing referees.

I also very much appreciate the "suspicious reference" feature that has caught out one or two applicants writing their own references Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xref?

The only thing that I would say that is a downside to Xref is the inability to input referee emails on the applicants behalf, I do occasionally have applicants who aren't very tech savvy send me their referees emails Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Imagine completely automating the Ref-check process. You don't have to ask candidates to mail you or submit references, you don't have to call those references to schedule a call and spend 30-40 mins asking them reference questions. That is one thing, the other thing is it's all in one place and you can access any reference at any later time. Additionally, XRef summarises the outcome of the reference provided into buckets like QOW, Ability to learn, meeting deadlines and Performance, which is not something we can achieve by doing manual ref checks. What problems is Xref solving and how is that benefiting you?

A very professional alternative to having the candidate submit references and then scheduling a call and having to call them up with a questionnaire.

Benefit : No way to summarise the results / opinions expressed by the references in a ref-check call.

What do you like best about Xref?

My favourite part of the organization is the amazing customer service, they are prompt, polite and help with a very genuine attitude.

My favourite feature of Xref is the fraudulent notifications that are provided for when an applicant uses someone that may share the same IP address. Xref will send a notification and any criteria to either alert you of an issue. This has proven extremely beneficial. I also appreciate that if someone does have the same IP address but they are a legitimate reference that Xref will explain the scenario (ie. they currently still work together.)

I also love that if we cancel a request, we get the credit back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xref?

I have very few complaints when it comes to XRef, any issue I have had, they have resolved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Xref solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have essentially outsourced reference checks which has reduced the amount of time we need to allocate to that component of our hiring process. If you are looking to verify a number of candidates this is extremely useful. if you are time poor or are needing a quick turn around time then this is also a great tool to use. It allows candidates to select more than one referee so you can get a strong referral in a short time with little effort. the notifications mean you know where the process is up to and when the referee is complete so you can set and forget Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
