StackOverflow has a straightforward UI which places emphasis on the question and answer, (the things you're really focused on). Tags and bookmarks help organize the inventory of questions and answers you'll build. A voting system, question bounties, reward incentives, etc. are nice features to prioritize and motivate. We've been leveraging StackOverflow for Teams to supplement our internal technical documents; it's been quite helpful for engineer onboarding, especially when problems arise. Additionally, we utilize their Slack integration to funnel questions to the appropriate Slack channels within our organization. Overall, it has been a positive experience. Despite having the ability to tag questions and filter by various facets, navigating the sea of content you'll accumulate over time can be cumbersome. I've found it best to define a bit of process around usage of StackOverflow to help aide discovery; e.g. moderating the creation of new tags to prevent overlap, ensuring users have some baseline for what constitutes a question in StackOverflow versus what doesn't, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
