291 Better Stack Reviews

I’ve been thoroughly impressed with Better Stack after using it for just a month, and to say I'm a super fan is just an understatement. Having worked with several logging and monitoring platforms like Papertrail, Loggly, Splunk, and SonarQube, I can confidently say that Better Stack stands out in a league of its own for my project needs. Its combination of speed, ease of use, robust feature set, and probably the best looking interface you'll ever get to work with makes it an exceptional choice.
The project setup is second to none. When onboarding with other logging services, I find myself sometimes wondering when logs will show up, or if the environment was set up correctly, but Better Stack leaves out all of that guess work with lightning fast logs and a setup specially tailored for every common tech stack. The free status page you get for your app is just the cherry on top.
The entire experience is so polished, you can even autofill your own config straight into the docs you're reading. Countless blog articles for best practices and recommendations are there for supplemental knowledge and have helped me achieve the best setup I could ever ask for.
This might feel less like a review and more like a love letter to the team, but I am so excited that my search for the perfect logging service for my needs is over and I will be including this in every project I start from here. Thank you! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The initial paid tier out the gate starts at $29 which is very steep for the small open source services I run. I would love to see some grace for public repos of some sort, or a lower tier around $14. Currently, it is hard to justify for non-commercial and hobbyist projects. Better Stack stands out with its beautiful and intuitive UI/UX — it’s one of the cleanest interfaces I’ve used in a monitoring platform. It’s also extremely beginner-friendly, making it easy to get started without digging through complex docs. I really appreciate that they offer a generous free tier, which is perfect for small projects or early-stage startups. Their uptime monitoring is reliable and straightforward, and I was able to integrate it with minimal setup. The fact that you can quickly plug it into a Symfony project using webhooks or alerting integrations is a bonus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There’s not much to dislike, but I’d love to see even more native SDKs or Symfony-specific integrations to speed up setup even further. Also, some of the more advanced features are understandably behind the paid tier, which can be limiting once your project grows — but that’s fair for a product this well-built. The integration of what were formerly known as Better Uptime and Logtail into the Uptime and Logs modules under a single platform streamlines workflows and reduces tool sprawl. Here are the technical aspects that I find particularly effective:
effective:
• Incident Management
• Slack-based incident management enables direct collaboration and templated workflows within Slack, supporting rapid response and reducing mean time to resolution (MTTR).
• AI-driven incident silencing leverages customizable machine learning models to filter out noise, ensuring only actionable alerts reach the team.
• Smart incident merging consolidates simultaneous incidents, minimizing alert fatigue and streamlining the acknowledgment process.
• Automated AI post-mortems synthesize incident timelines and outcomes, reducing manual effort in documentation and supporting continuous improvement.
• Uptime and Infrastructure Monitoring
• Fast HTTP(s) checks (up to every 30 seconds) from multiple global regions, with support for ping and heartbeat monitoring, provide high-frequency, reliable uptime data.
• Playwright-based transaction monitoring executes real browser tests with a JavaScript runtime, offering deep synthetic monitoring for complex user flows.
• Error incident alerts include screenshots and second-by-second event timelines, which facilitate rapid root cause analysis and debugging.
• Traceroute and MTR outputs for timeouts enhance network diagnostics from the edge, providing actionable insights for connectivity issues.
• Alerting and On-Call Management
• Multi-channel incident alerts (push, SMS, phone, email, Slack, Teams) ensure critical events are never missed, with single-click acknowledgment for efficient communication.
• On-call scheduling integrates directly with calendar apps like Google Calendar and Outlook, supporting flexible rotations and escalation policies.
• Smart escalation logic can notify backup responders or the entire team if the primary on-call engineer is unavailable, reducing the risk of missed incidents.
• Log Management and Analytics
• The Logs module (formerly Logtail) transforms logs into structured data, enabling SQL-like querying and visualization across the entire stack.
• Integration with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform providers) and support for popular logging libraries (Serilog, NLog) facilitate seamless adoption in modern DevOps pipelines.
• Reporting and analytics features include advanced KPI tracking (MTTA, MTTR), incident cause synthesis, SLA/SLI indicators, and CSV export for further analysis.
• Security and Compliance
• Enterprise-grade security features such as SOC 2 Type II compliance, SSO, 2FA, SCIM provisioning, and role-based access control are available.
• Data residency options and custom VPC deployments support organizations with strict compliance requirements.
• GDPR compliance and team-level isolation are built in, addressing privacy and regulatory needs.
• User Experience and Integrations
• The user interface is consistently described as intuitive and visually appealing, reducing onboarding friction and making complex workflows accessible.
• Extensive integrations with collaboration tools (Slack, Teams), calendar systems, and cloud providers enhance interoperability within existing environments.
• Public status pages can be configured to share uptime and incident data transparently with stakeholders or customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The pricing, while competitive for the feature set, may be a barrier for smaller teams or startups, especially when scaling up monitors, log retention, or requiring enterprise features Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We use Better Stack to monitor our backend for our AI chatbot business, and it’s been really solid. It alerts us instantly if anything goes down, which gives us peace of mind, especially when serving clients. Also super cool to show customers how its been up for long via the status. Havent found anything negative yet, it was easy to setup and easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like the ease of setup. I am using it in my Personal Project, if you have the a logging already, it just a matter of minutes to integrate with BetterStack. I also loved the generous free tier, it's more than sufficient for hobby projects like mine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No complaints till now, but I would like to see more support for native frameworks like react native. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Best experience we've had with a monitoring tool. Easy to set up, modern UI, and the status page translation feature significantly improved our users' experience.
We highly recommend this tool to any team looking for reliable service monitoring and user-friendly status pages. We started with the free plan, but after such a positive experience, we’re definitely moving forward with a paid subscription. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We genuinely have nothing to complain about, everything worked smoothly, and the tool delivered exactly what we needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've been using Better Stack for 2 weeks as of writing, their free plan is already good for basic website monitoring and push notifications to slack to get notified of downtimes. Their UI is clean, modern, and easy to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They lock the status page feature behind a paywall, while i think it's the core feature of an uptime monitoring solution. I think it should be free instead. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Love the UI theme. They sent a nice shirt. The status page implementation works well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Two major issues.
I encountered a bug where my slack alert did not display the snippet of the logs that caused the alert. This was not remediated for at least a month, despite many, many attempts to follow up.
Second, the UI is just miserably slow. I often wait 2 to 5 minutes for my logs to load. A log aggregator this slow is completely unusable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing is the free tier, you can just test out their product for as long as you want and then decide if you want the extra features behind the paywall or not.
The UI and the feeling of using the product is just, phhhhhh and even the public Status Page is just too good to be given out for free.
The integrations are what i want and i think that's good enough.
The Product is just so easy to use and just get it set up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside are the features behind the paywall, I understand that you need to earn so not really a downside. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As someone working in a fast-paced startup environment, Better Stack has been a lifesaver. Setting up uptime monitoring and incident alerts was incredibly simple, and I was able to get everything running within minutes. The dashboards are clean and visually appealing, making it easy to track performance at a glance. One time, we had a critical issue at midnight, and thanks to Better Stack's instant Slack notifications, we resolved it in under 10 minutes. Its integrations with tools we already use made adoption seamless, and it genuinely feels like a tool built for teams that value speed and reliability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While I love using Better Stack, I do feel the pricing could be more startup-friendly. For smaller teams like ours, a more affordable tier would make it even better. Also, while the core features are intuitive, I struggled a bit when trying to dig into the advanced logging features—it would have been nice to have more examples or tutorials for those scenarios.
