We use betterstack for uptime monitoring and its status page functionality to display and report on uptime metrics. The status pages are the best I've seen, they look great and support custom domains. This company is also obviosuly foward thinking as they have been adding support for Playwright scripts. What is most impressive is the simplicity in the installation and use of the application. The status pages can be modified any way we want them, and log monitoring gives us valuable information with little effort. The features I have utilized so far have been great, but I did wish there was more flexibility when it came to setting alert thresholds in the log monitoring system. I think it would be better if the alerts could be triggered under even more specific conditions. Furthermore, for some of the other services, where there is more advanced documentation, a basic, simplistically-oriented auxiliary documentation would be very useful for new users. It saves me a lot of time and the dashboard is really intuitive. I haven‘t been using it for long tbh but I really like what they did here. I created a status page to show my monitors and heartbeats in a single overview. I wanted to use a custom domain which was supported, but it took them 6 weeks to apply a certificate. The functionality is great, really helps to triage issues. But even better, and this is a rarity now-a-days, their customer support is fantastic (done by actual humans that seem to love their company). The all-in-one approach offered by Better Stack is convenient. You get out-of-the box external monitoring includins a public status page and incident management, as well as a log monitoring and metrics collection platform with alerting. It's simple to use and the setup is much easier than some competing solution. Customer support has a short turnaround time and is friendly. Better Stack is still incomplete compared to competitors on the logs/metrics side. Setting up metrics from logs is not user-friendly, and the usage of SQL for complex analysis is a nice idea in theory but makes things complex in practice. It's still a long way from Splunk's or Grafana's ease-of-use on that side. However, once your wrap your head around their logs-to-metrics converter (or do it yourself before ingestion), it's enough for a lot of things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
