Stack Overflow for Teams Overview

What is Stack Overflow for Teams?

Stack Overflow for Teams is a knowledge-sharing platform that facilitates the collection, curation, and dissemination of your company’s knowledge. We do this by providing a platform that’s familiar to developers, embedded into developer workflows, and closes the distance between people and the knowledge they need, using gamification to encourage contribution and engagement. The community-based platform connects knowledge seekers and domain experts through an easy-to-use Q&A tool developers already know with additional functionality built in to ensure institutional knowledge is validated, accessible, and up-to-date both now and in the future. OverflowAI, our new GenAI-powered features for Stack Overflow For Teams Enterprise, helps connect technologists to solutions faster by doing the heavy lifting of searching for technical and institutional knowledge by surfacing and sourcing answers in natural ways, in the environments developers work in.

What do you like best about Stack Overflow for Teams?

The process to raise or answer a question is pretty simple. For any new problem I need to solve or am stuck on, I look over to StackOverflow for help and in most cases, I find my query already raised or answered by someone else. I really like the reward points or badges that I get when a question or answer is upvoted and keeps me motivated to contribute more. I also appreciate the access it gives to collaborate with a large pool of experts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Stack Overflow for Teams?

The familiar look & feel of StackOverflow that most of us who work in tech-related fields are used to, as well as the fact that you can keep an entire knowledge base centralized on one place, for when a multitude of people keep asking the same questions, you can write a guide on StackOverflow for Teams and then send them to the knowledge base. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow for Teams?

StackOverflow way is deeply ingrained even here, but it doesn't feel like there's innovation at the level that it can fully reach.

In my opinion, StackOverflow for Teams should have its own charm instead of being just like a normal StackOverflow, new experimental features and stuff like that will always be appreciated by people who love them, and for those who don't - they just don't have to use them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Stack Overflow for Teams solving and how is that benefiting you?

Often-asked questions can be extracted and answered via the familiar StackOverflow approach, which gets more people familiar with StackOverflow and ultimately contributes to keeping everything in one place where it's easy to find. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Stack Overflow for Teams solving and how is that benefiting you?

It solves documentation for solving problems at an early stage of a company, it also helps keep a record of what has been discussed and eventually, when the company grows and new members have questions, they can search for answers and, based on interaction, locate the team members more suitable for their particular questions. What do you like best about Stack Overflow for Teams?

It's great to have an internal tool directly associated with a tool I already use. It's a great place to share information between developers. I haven't used competing tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow for Teams?

There's nothing I dislike. But, since I usually query stack overflow via google, those search results obviously don't show the internal questions/answers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Stack Overflow for Teams solving and how is that benefiting you?

It was especially great for onboarding at my new job. A lot of the easy FAQ type things for environment setup, etc live on there, which made it easy to look through and set up. It's also nice for the very domain specific things, to have it in a place that is easily queryable, editable, and allows for multiple answers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
