What do you like best about GitBook?

The easy to use UI and platform agnostic data format (git + markdown) are my favorite things about Gitbook. Making documentation easier to create reduces the amount of time I have to spend creating it. It also allows me to publish documentation in a way that's easy for users of my software to consume (they can view online or print to a PDF). Not being tied into a particular platform (since the data is stored in git and uses markdown) is also a big selling point for the product. I wouldn't want to spend a bunch of time creating documentation that I didn't own (because it was locked in somebody else's platform). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

The only thing I'd improve is to add more styling options for the hosted gitbooks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about GitBook?

The possibility that many people can come together in the design and improvement of a collaborative endeavor. The end product is aesthetically pleasing, and the books are highly customizable/upgradeable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about GitBook?

The look and feel of the generated documentation are beautiful. I couldn't wish anything more

The tool is straightforward to use; we haven't had to teach any of our team members how to use it. Every step in the process of creating a space and having your documentation ready was self-explanatory.

Gitbook supports the open souce/ngo community with free, unlimited service.

Their online support is helpful and fast, something needed and much appreciated in a fast paced environment like ours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

What do you like best about GitBook?

Great way to create a whitepaper that your team can work collectively on together and have portrayed to the general public, especially if it open source. I like it better than Google Docs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

It allows me to focus on the content rather than the form with a very well-known Markdown format, the fact that I can synchronize it to my Git repository. This allows me to be efficient while collaborating with my team on this tool. It also integrated excellent functionality such as auto-embed. It is also ready to use for SEO frankly, it is the most practical tool in 2021 to make documentation for our open-source projects and more. Thanks a lot Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about GitBook?

All your documentation/notes are in the cloud. There is no need to care about synchronization across web servers/devices. They also have a custom domain option! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Nothing tbh. Everything I need is here and it all makes life way simpler for me and my workflow! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've always been self hosting multiple servers and tons of CMS to maintain my documentations across multiple projects. This was always a hassle for me as I had to micromanage each CMS and ensure the content is displayed properly. However, with Gitbook, everything is just done for you 😂 All you have to do is come with the content and throw it int!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
