Description

Product documentation your users will love. GitBook has everything you need to create beautiful docs for your users — so you don’t have to build your own editing tools, CMS, website and more. You can just focus on writing great content. GitBook’s branch-based Git workflow encourages your whole team to collaborate by creating a branch, requesting a review, and merging when ready. It’s a flow your developers already know and love — and they can even edit your docs in their code editor using Git Sync. That’s all backed up by AI that lets your users find what they need fast, publishing settings that put you in control of who can access your docs, and internal documentation for your own team.

"Great alternative to Confluence"
What do you like best about GitBook?

The import of my legacy Confluence spaces went very well.

I just broke the Confluence exports into small chunks, then the imports came over great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

There does not seem to be a way to move pages between Spaces or export anything that can be imported back into another space. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish it had support for binary files like PDFs in the repo. I'd love to link to our charter, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Collaborative Tool for all of Our Users"
What do you like best about GitBook?

GitBook is a user-friendly, intuitive, and flexible documentation platform. The simple, well-designed interface is not overly intimidating for some of our less-technical users, yet has plenty of features for those who need more options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

While the simple markdown style is great for most of our purposes, it can less than pleasant when formatting embedded media. Also, there is a lack of editing options when creating button links that could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love how simple it is to document information/knowledge within GitBook. The UI is straightforward to understand and makes using Gitbook an absolute joy. Additionally, I love that that permissions and access are straightforward and I can invite our community members to help document information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
