Our experience with Donorbox has been generally very satisfactory, but we have found some areas for improvement. For example, the dashboard is currently only available in English and French, which can be a barrier for teams that communicate exclusively in Spanish. The automation of key accounting processes - like accounts payable, receivable, and journal entries - saves time and reduces manual error. Could access, strong audit trails, scalability for growing businesses, and seamless integration with other systems like Salesforce and ADP. Support is generally responsive and knowledgeable, though occasionally more complex issues take time to resolve. The implementation process requires some planning and training, but with the help of onboarding resources and support, it’s manageable. Once set up, the system is intuitive with regular use. The user interface can feel outdated and unintuitive at times, especially for new users. Navigation between modules isn't always seamless, and basic tasks can take a few extra steps compared to other platforms. The reporting tool, while powerful, has a steep learning curve. What do you like best about Givebutter?

I love that Give Butter has an option to pay with a credit card directly through the website -- and allows you to *require* donors to cover the credit card fee. I wish I had more options when editing transactions because some of our staff aren't widely tech savvy and make mistakes. It kind of sucks having to delete a transaction and re-post it because some things can't be edited. I think admins should have that ability. What do you like best about Novi AMS?

I’ve been a daily NoviAMS user since 2017 as it manages our non-profit trade association, and it has been an absolute game-changer. The platform is incredibly user-friendly, making it easy to navigate for individuals of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned techies.

One of the standout features is its seamless integration with QuickBooks Online. This has saved us a significant amount of time and reduced errors when managing our financials, as everything syncs automatically. Whether I’m tracking memberships, managing events, or running reports, the software ensures everything runs smoothly.

Overall, NoviAMS has simplified our operations and made our work more efficient. The onboarding process was something we were unsure about but nded up being smooth. This is so difficult because there aren't many downsides to the product for us. Almost no downtime in the almost 10 years we have been using it.

I would say it's ability to use other products but now it has an open API so other tools and software work together. That's a gamechanger for our trade show.

Before NoviAMS, we wre trakcing memberships using a clunky spreadsheet. That is a thing of the past.

We used to do so many manual ccounting tasks that are 100% automated and trackable using NoviAMS and QuickBoos Online.

We are saving so much precious staff time now that members can register themselves, download receipts, add their own team members, etc., using their Member Compass dashboard.

What do you dislike about BILL AP/AR?

Our experience with Bill.com has been extremely disappointing. Their verification process is an absolute nightmare — we were asked to submit the same documents 4-5 times, and even after doing so, they continued to flag issues without providing any clear resolution.

What made this worse was the quality of their support. Every interaction with their support team felt like going in circles — no real ownership, no actionable guidance, just the same scripted responses that don’t actually address the problem. It's clear that their internal processes and customer support infrastructure are broken.

We chose Bill.com expecting it to simplify our AR workflows — instead, it created more headaches and delays. We’ve wasted far too much time on something that should be straightforward. What do you like best about Zeffy?

We switched to Zeffy after the company we were using raised their rates and added a monthly fee. Zeffy has been great! As a nonprofit, we receive 100% of the money donated to us. The donor has a choice whether to make a donation to Zeffy, but we never receive any information about whether they did or not. Zeffy also takes care of sending the donor an email receipt both at the time of the donation and at the end of the year with their yearly total. Monthly donors also receive a year end statement. My Zeffy account has a history of all donations received and a contact list of donors. Accessing information is easy and intuitive. We are a small nonprofit so we do not take advantage of many of the features Zeffy has to offer, but it is nice to know more is available as we continue to grow. What do you dislike about Zeffy?

Zeffy disburses funds on a weekly basis so we have to wait a bit before the donated funds are available to us. In our situation this isn't really a problem but I suppose it could be for someone else. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a small nonprofit, we don't get donations every month. The company we were previously using to process our donations decided to add a monthly fee whether we received donations or not. Not too much. It is one of my vendors that I am very happy with. If I had to have a suggestion, it would be on the savable templates. They are not editable in a way that streamlines our processes, so we generally have to create a brand new template or deal with the way its done. (add a line in the template at the top for alphabetical purposes vs. having to add at bottom). Also, I wish there were more customizable workflows. We have to manually select the workflows b/c we have many managers for similar invoices. I wish we could have workflow templates we could select vs. having to manually add approvers. The best part of snap raise is the ease of setting up a campaign and the website. Everything was setup in a prompt fashion and changes were taken care of quickly. The downside was not being able to use the system to send the text messages directly. To get the message and link from the computer to the students phone then send it was a bit of a hassle. This isn't something I dislike about FreeWill specifically, but I'd like to see more data on the long -term longevity of some of these commitments. We used to utliize the national featureship and that brought us 60 new contacts and $8 million in commitments so it helped us sifnificantly increase the number of people who left us in their will.
