My favorite part of Freshbooks is how clean the user interface is. I've tried Quickbooks and other accounting softwares, and they can get very confusing. Summary of invoices is tied to first line item description. If empty, so is the invoice summary. Pass through billing on Bench had incorrect tax elements, and deductions taken from instant payouts is deducted from the deposit, not entered as a line item or submitted as a separate charge which makes them invisible. Need a little more flexibility setting up tracking codes for services. Would benefit form seeing remaining budget per item and project along with the remaining hours. Would like to be able to connect to SharePoint and OneDrive to acebes files and receipts. I've been using Freshbooks since 2011. It's a really easy to use accounting platform for anyone without an accounting background. I'm a freelancer so it's very easy to use their time tracking and bill my hours to clients as well as creates estimates, invoice project based work and set automatic monthly payments. It is terribly expensive compared to other similar services but has always been worth it in my opinion. However, recently they've changed their payment policies so that now, when a customer pays an invoice FreshBooks holds that payment for however long they'd like (some recent payments have taken a WEEK!) before passing the funds to my bank. They will remove the hold but only if you pay for their most expensive plan. If you're the type of business that needs money and relies on cashflow - stay away!! There are much better options out there. And I fear this new strategy of theirs shows a new attitude to freelancers and small business that is much less supportive and more predatory than what it used to be. What I dislike about FreshBooks is the limitation on the number of clients for certain plans and the need for workarounds to manage more clients. As a premium paying user, these restrictions feel frustrating, especially when I have to delete and undelete clients just to stay within the limit.
