"Hard to use and very sneaky, even shady pricing - don't use!"
What do you like best about Flowrev?
Flowrev helped us to recognise revenue, linked to invoices in Xero. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Flowrev?
Flowrev's pricing - they billed us for arrears after cancelling our contract with them! They do this to try to tie you in and because they had a direct debit enabled, they simply billed our card without permission.
We cancelled because we found an alternative which was cheaper and far easier to use (better UX and less prone to errors).
I would highly recommend you don't use Flowrev because they will catch you out with their arrears based pricing (you can read their terms to see how they do it). Contact me for a much better alternative. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
First some context: Flowrev's pricing model, formulated with widespread user input, has been published at flowrev.com/pricing since 2016. We also explain details upfront, and provide refreshers if needed thereafter.
Usage, metered by "number of active schedules," is an element of our model. In the purchased Flowrev subscription period, while revenue/expense is being recognized from an invoice/bill line, it counts as one active schedule. Cancellations and re-dos can make it vary.
Most customers are diligent with their usage forecasting and seek appropriate subscription placement, which helps minimize, if not eliminate, usage overage. The included amount at each pricing tier provides substantial builtin headroom for in-place growth. Still if usage goes over, rather than halting their mission critical finance operations, customers are extended trust/credit and, as clearly noted on their invoice, billed in arrears for overage. Its handling has no relations to cancellations or dissuasion thereof. Only user's consumption and payment history does.
Regarding JonS - he was a customer from 2017 to 2023. In Sep 2022 his 10/22-9/23 renewal was downgraded to Gold at his request. However, when JonS canceled his 10/23-9/24 renewal, his usage in his 10/22-9/23 Gold renewal period was at 8,698 active schedules, which is even over our higher Platinum's base level.
That period's overage, which Jon was first notified about and subsequently provided all supporting details of, was billed days later and its payment processed per longstanding standing agreement. It was done in exactly the same way as for an earlier overage with no complaint from him then. In Sep 2022 JonS had also been advised about his usage trend and associated budgeting. He continued to over-use the product throughout that year, but feels he should not have had to pay for his true usage.
Also in stark contrast to his comments here, JonS' most recent direct feedback to us - we quote:
"... Flowrev has worked excellently for what we need..."
