Avid has increased production of our accounts payable team. We were able to decrease our AP team from 3 FT to 2 FT employees over the time of the conversion. The features are the right ones that help us pay invoices in a more timely manner. The AI that is used in the platform speeds up the process for processing daily invoices. Avid as integrated into our accounting platform smoothly and handles all necessary entries on the backend. The customer support has been excellent anytime that I needed their assistance. Only knowing our previous AP platform which was very manual, I don't have much that I dislike in Avid. There are two things that probably stand out for me which include the following: in my opinion, I feel like there are some features that require too many extra clicks to access, their menus should be more hover and also some features should be linked together as opposed as getting out of one section to goto another. Another issue I have is the speed, with this being hosted by Avid, there are times that the system might show some latency which can lead to frustration as it is something that we cannot control. Finally, which would be normal with the development of AI and the OCR software, there are times when the incorrect information is picked up by the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What we find most helpful is the reviewer/approver can code their own invoices. We also like the added feature of the stop pay under the Pay menu, this has saved us a lot of time. We also like the ability to see payment status. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I find least helpful is that the reviewer/approver cannot see their invoices once approved and that it can only be see at the manager level. They cannot see the status of their invoices. We spend a lot of time advising the status of payments back to our reviewer/approvers (not at manager level). Also when it is audit time, we are bombarded with requests on pulling documentation and if they had this access, they could access it on their own. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like how easy it is to use the platform. We use Avid Suite and I am on there multiple times every day. You can easily add users with the exact levels of security you choose. It is very easy to train new employees as they start with the company as well. Most of my employees are good to go after 2 days of usage. You can upgrade other pieces of the platform as your business needs and the team does well giving you what you need for training and support during the implementation process and the integration process is fairly easy and smooth. The Capture feature is one of the best out there and does a superb job of auto filling the invoice information in for you to save even more time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

AvidXchange customer service when it comes to supporting vendors is not good at all! They create a bottleneck between the customer and the vendor because they claim to allow payors to be hands off in supporting efficient payment processing for vendors but that is not the case at all. Vendors are charged to receive their payments efficiently (electronic payment method) and it could take weeks or months to get a vendor set up on a more efficient payment method other than check. Because of the fee most vendors are reluctant to even sign up for a faster payment method, leaving the customer/payor to have to go through other payment alternatives. A vendor has to wait until after their first payment via check to receive an electronic payment method and they indicate they contact the vendor once the first payment is made and that is not the case. In my experience vendors have had to contact them. If you have banking instructions for your vendors that you would like to put into the system on your vendors behalf, that is not an option. I have used Avid both as a payor to pay vendors and also as a consultant to receive payment and both experiences were not great. They could ruin a relationship with a vendor because a vendor would have to call several times to find out about the status of an efficient payment method leaving you as the payor to in fact NOT be hands off and receive complaints from vendors of an inconvenienced experience to get set up timely. I question the implementation process and options as the system was implemented before my use, but set up or options of efficiency does not seem like it was there when implemented. The system does not have a seamless integration with Sage Intacct and in my experience of being an administrator I had to correct implementation issues and figure out field issues of dimensions not coming over properly. The system was set up to only integrate invoices and not payments or close the invoices out in Intacct. The representative never contacted us to discuss better solutions or options to improve the AP process. The team has had to reach out to inquire of better options and overall, its probably best to seek a better tool. I would not recommend Avid if you are looking for a tool that offers true efficiency and sufficient support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
AvidAscend is very user friendly and intuitive product making it very easy to train on and for the occasional user to navigate with ease. The general ledger, reconciliation and payment file integrations are seamless as well as the tax document preparations annually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While customer support is not often needed, when it is necessary the process to reach a subject matter expert is very difficult and then takes to long for an answer or resolution to the support request being made. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
