If I can highlight something, it is that it works quickly and very well. Additionally, the final space occupied by the backups after deduplication is negligible compared to the total volume of information to be backed up. I also have to highlight the ability to virtually bring up a failed machine within the UDP itself. The ability to replicate between 2 UDP Appliances in different geographical locations very easily is an ideal solution to not worry about disasters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Something that doesn't quite convince me is the construction of some custom reports. In my opinion, it's the part I would improve in case the default reports are not useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
ARCSERVE...I use it since 10 years ago and I've never changed it for another solution because until now I've not found any other software that can compete with it.
It's simple, efficient and his processes do what they are made to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Yes, there is only a point that I can describe with light negative words...it's the managing of his DataBase...in the past with the VLDB (old DB format), manage the DB was a horror story. Now, migrating to SQL DB, it's quite simple but hard to contain his growth Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The recovery process is easy and we always get good backups. Excellent value for the price. Other products can do more, but not at this price. It was a great complimentary product to our other more robust backup solutions. I would definatly recommend this for any SMB looking for a straight forward backup soultion for a few physical servers. The ui seems a bit slow and clunky at times but it is fairly intuitive. It is nice to have the web ui, but it could be improved. Aside from that there isn't any other negatives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Arcserve UDP backup sollution.Total protection, recovery and availability for systems, applications and data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing to say special to dislike abut Arcserve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The centralized console and reporting make things very easy for a large MSP such as ourselves. We can view everything from the top and drill down to learn more. The install is also very easy and support is very responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We generally don't have any issues with the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The simplicity of being able to recover VMs with just a click, and the reporting and dashboard that show that our systems are fully backed up and protected. Also, excellent compression means we are able to store significant quantities of backups and data using just a small amount of storage. We likely will be backing up our data to a cloud storage (also built in) within the year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The inability to do a cloud backup while also doing mirror backups to a secondary device. In an ideal world, I’d prefer to have all backups from the primary UDP go to our secondary UDP appliance and also to the cloud. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing about UDP is the ability to perform 'Instant VM'. Rather than trying to recover and restore a server, just spool up a VM based on the last backup! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The thing about UDP is it is difficult to understand sometimes. The inability to restore individual Linux files easily (requires 'reverse replication') does hamper it's usefulness in that area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The UDP is easy to set up out-of-box. Even setting up replication is easily accomplished. The unit we employed also has the ability to spin up a "virtual server" from the last backup which makes disaster recovery effortless Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only shortcoming that I have discovered is the UDP does not send out emails for Linux backup failures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
