Phpstorm is not just a program on which you write lines of codes and then run them. Instead, it is fully integrated with other development tools such as a data handler for any type of database that your application runs on such as mysql.
This IDE makes development more comfortable as it abstracts and implements by default some actions that would otherwise have taken you time to manually configure.
In terms of features, I particularly like the integrated shell/terminal on which you can also run some commands like uploading your website files from within the program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Phpstorm can be a little intimidating when you begin using it and especially when you are also new to programming. There are so very many features within the app and as a newbie I was a bit confused trying to understand what they all meant and accomplished. Thus I don't think phpstorm is friendly to beginners. There is code inspection of all kinds on phpstorm which is not just limited to php,, html and javascript but also incorporates sql inspections and autocompletion of tables and their columns. This especially gives you the chance to verify that your database structure follows your code rules There is also a dedicated additional tab which while is not very powerful, it gives you the features required for daily usage.
Phpstorm has a an inbuilt debugger, Xdebug, which can even be used for remote debugging.
There are so very many plugins available on phpstorm that can extend the IDE's powers. These plugins are ether from Jetbrains or the community around Phpstorm and Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Besides being very expensive and hence making little sense to startup companies with limited cash, it is also a protected intellectual property that can not be edited to achieve an inidvidual's specific needs.
This IDE has an overcluttered interface that used to scare me as beginner because I did not know what any of those features were about.
Lastly, phpstorm requires a lot of memory to run and it registers slow performance occasionally which can cause disruptions to your work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the most helpful features of Phpstorm is its intelligent code completion which I've come to love a lot lately. It makes structural code completion suggestions based on its exhaustive understanding of the PHP programming language. Word expansion, which may not be as deep as structural, is also very helpful as it makes completions on the word you're currently typing based on previously typed words.
Phpstorm also supports various php frameworks such as laravel, magento, and symphony; and that comes in handy given that most coding these days is done through frameworks rather than the language in its native form. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software uses up a lot computing resources. To begin with, it takes up a considerably large amount of installation space - more than 200mbs. At the same time, when its running, the app uses almost all your computer's cores and a lot of RAM. This makes it less effective for computers with low resource amounts such as a dual core running 2gb of ram. As a developer, you'll be left screaming at your comp most of the time when it starts to hang. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
and so forth Refactoring was never simple like refactoring in PHPStorm I truly welcome it ordering your task records so you can tap on a class or technique and see whats going on - Refactoring Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
there's nothing to disdain It needs a considerable amount of PC assets You need to restart the IDE on each module update Takes much time to boot from the outset and to file the records. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Phpstorm is the best code editor I have ever met.
It is very easy to coding using phpstorm, Is sync all css classes, Php classes and suggest them when typing one or two letters. And it automatically import classes. It is very easy and no need to remember all the classes and paths. And using CTRL + click on the Class, Can navigate to the location of the class located.
Phpstorm has in-built terminal. we can easily run commands. no need to open separate terminals.
It support GIT, We can easily identify what are the git staged, committed, un-tracked files with different colors. there are git in-built shortcuts to resolve conflicts, commit, pull, push. we no need to remember git commands and can easily work with git by clicking buttons.
Searching among files folders and paths very easy and navigating files are easy.
Phpstrom allows to change structure of code using CTRL + ALT + L keys. It helps to identify the structure and clearness of the code. And using + mark of left hand side code, Can collapse and extract the code. So we can extract the code and access to bottom parts easily.
There are inbuilt Databse manage tool, debug console, vagrant etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only dislike point is the price of this tool. The price of phpstrom is little-bit high.
Little-bit slow to load Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the interface of the php storm is very user friendly and it provides more useful suggestions while developing the application. the indentation and spacing are perfect for any application developed using php and any php framework. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the premium version allows to access all the features but it doesn't support developing when the renewal delays. it gets closed for every 30 minutes which is really inconvenient Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the most effective PHP IDEs on the market with local support for frameworks including Laravel and CakePHP. All standard IDE features work well, accurate error prevention, autocomplete, and search functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is not a platform for users to edit individual scripts. Like all good IDEs, it can be intimidating to try to understand or even know all the features, but I still don't want a feature that I couldn't find supported in PHPStorm. There is nothing I haven't liked about the program so far. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are several things I like about the PHPStorm :

- In built support of Git . It saves a lot of time for me .
- With the integration of XDebug, the power doubles .
- Debugging is a cakewalk . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are very few things I don't like about the PHPStorm :
- It is a little over whelming for someone who is new .
- I still don't get the Pull branch thing for the Git tool .
- It is a little expensive tool over other software .
- Initial loading time is more than the other software . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a highly recommended software for editing HTML and JavaScript code, very useful for the application and development of websites and mobile apps. It features an important engine for error searching and commands on the go, to ensure the best work developed, especially if we want to achieve maximum efficiency for our applications. It also includes a very comprehensive SQL editor to address the multiple syntaxes in our projects to be developed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing missing is a better preview mode since it would be the perfect way to see and know for sure about what we are developing while also checking the work done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Since I've been using PhpStorm, I can't use any other program anymore. It is simple, intuitive, and rich in features. You can navigate very well between the files of a project, but also between one project and another. The error correction is always precise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like having to pay annually, I prefer to pay for a license once and, if necessary, pay again for updates. In any case, I find the price appropriate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
