PhpStorm is a feature rich text editor and that is what I like the most. It has all the features of IntelliSense to make encoding much easier. Also, it has several built-in keyboard shortcuts to write the code faster. Another feature that I like is that it has SSH and Git compatibility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

PHPstorm is our primary choice when it comes to developing powerful PHP Web applications. It is really easy to debug our code whether its PHP, Javascript or XML. It supports almost every heavy PHP framework like CodeIgniter, Laravel, and CakePHP which are mostly used by developers. One of the best features of PHPstorm is that we can create a project that is hosted on the remote host and files are accessible through FTP/SFTP. PHPStorm has an inbuilt command-line tool that helps in running important commands in the project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

PhpStorm is really the best IDE to program in PHP. It has really amazing features like version control or automatic saving. Also, it has the functions of IntelliSense, so it has autocomplete. With PhpStorm you have great addons to work with frameworks easier and they make your life much easier. Instead of having the documentation open all the time you can just use the autofill option for example. I used it to get comfortable programming with symfony and shopware for example. But not just that, there are a lot of extras given, you can easily connect to the databases you are working with, you have terminals and git / vcs support. It is just the perfect IDE to work within PHP projects. It is just a must have to work in structured and OOP projects in my opinion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It costs money, which is understandable with the huge amount of content they offer you. As well it is a java based IDE so it can lead to memory problems. Still, overall I do not see a lot of downsides to PhpStorm. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Again, the simplicity of it. I've done done projects with it including on my internship at a big Webdevelopment company.
Me and my friends are trying to make a site where people can ask for a website and we all gonna code it in there.
There are alot of handy dandy plugin such as github plugin and autocomplete. The standard autocomplete is fine but with the plugin makes your life so much easier.
You can ask for a student licence which you have to renew every year so you can get it for free and use it anytime you want. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

PhpStorm supports almost every PHP framework and javascript framework. We use the Laravel framework with Phpstorm IDE and it helps in developing powerful and secure web applications. Auto-generation and auto-completion feature is really great and helps in writing code very quickly and efficiently.
