I love the intuitive interface and the autocomplete function because we are always in a hurry, which saves LOTS of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I didn't have any issues with the software yet (: Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Everything works, and everything works fast.
I love that with a few keystrokes, your code gets formatted beautifully. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hard to tell, maybe the pricing (AFAIK there is currently no free edition). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like how easy it is to use and that it is compatible with other languages like jQuery, React, and Angular.js. Additionally, PHPstorm is not strictly for the PHP language only because I use it for JavaScript and CSS as well. I like the syntax highlighting feature too because it offers suggestions to improve that highlighted part of the code. JetBrains, the developer of PHPStorm, creates products that are worthwhile for their ease of use and the increase in productivity they bring to users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It uses a lot of memory and sometimes takes a long time to load. But it's not so bad because I have never experienced a crash yet. Also, it's packed with amazing features, but automatic migrations are not one of them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm not a fan of PHP with the dynamic typing and frequent updates between versions that break my code so a good IDE that makes a painful language easier to work with is godsent, my favorite thing is that you can easily jump into files if you are in the function that calls a different file, it saves a lot of time especially in a large deployment with many developers that work concurrently in different parts and was developed over a long time. There is a bug I hit relatively often with (override(map[])) now; With long object names sometimes just doesn't work anymore, on the upside I think that it will be patched soon since it is already reported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
PHPStorm is a very feature-rich IDE. It's very helpful for working with production-grade PHP applications. Additionally, the JetBrains suite works well across the engineering org as we also use DataGrip -- having consistency across tools is very nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's a bit of a learning curve (which is true of basically any IDE). Personally I find myself switching between many text editors all day and PHPStorm's keyboard mappings are still the least intuitive to me. I'm sure if I used it exclusively or even much more than I currently do that would be less of an issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
some things are good i guess but i never use that ish because im a senior erlang dev ex. php dev it makes the clusterf*** seemingly easier to navigate, but its all lies..... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
this product used to be good but version 2016.2 to current 2017.1 is unacceptable for business use, i have a long running review of this app based on the frustrations ive had since 2015, so 2 yrs of headache and nothing has been solved and the devs of the platform basically refuse to fix or acknowledge, they just take your money. review is here https://plus.google.com/106435649138230430305/posts/D1A8CEgoRkq
also try making a new file its insane, make a popup the mouse has to click and miss the click and restart. fire yourselves!!!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It has excellent support for Windows subsystem Linux (WSL2). It has nice IntelliSense and integrations like git, docker, xdebug & many more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes it takes a lot of time to index things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This software attracts my attention, due to its splendid and effective functionalities, which it has integrated into its programming, which can be used by any user in particular, in the most flexible way possible, including that it supports direct access keys that help the coding process, and make it faster at work, since we save considerable time, thanks to this option of use, without excluding that it contains an automatic generation of assistance functions such as autocomplete and quite useful information and prevalent. After some updates to the version of PhpStorm, drastically, the application began to present slowdown failures, to start or perform several operations at the same time, which is a considerable problem, since sometimes due to its slow system, it can delay the work you do on a platform, on significant issues, including the initialization process for source code debugging, it's a bit obscure. With PhpStorm you've smart addons to work much easier with frameworks and they make your work so much easier. There is no need to have the documentation open on the side you can just rely on the autofill option for example. It really helped me to get comfortable at programming with shopware and symfony. But it is not just that, you have built in terminals, git / vcs support and you can fast and easily connect to databases you are working with. It is in my opinion the perfect IDE to work with projects built on a PHP Stack. It is definitely a must-have to work properly in structured and OOP projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Unfortunately it costs money. But it does for a good reason, because the features it comes with make it very worth. And it is a java based IDE leading to some memory issues, next to that I still can not see any real downside to PhpStorm. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
