495 HackerRank Developer Skills Platform Reviews
I like how easy it is to send a large amount of technical screening to folks and assess their skills. We have integrated it into our hiring platform (Career Zone) and these features can be accessed in one place! Very simple to review, download reports and share with other team members. I would say as a non technical person I don't like that I need someone technical to vet responses. Sometimes folk score lower as a result of simple errors, it would be great in the future if there was AI generated assessments of the report so that I could interpret them myself. Hackerrank is a must have if you are looking to hire software engineers. It is a great platform that makes taking coding interviews a breeze. The functionality of creating tests and sharing with candidates for their submission enabled us to screen candidates and have prescreened and qualified canddiates ready for interviews saving lot of bandwidth for the interviews. The user interface is also quite simple, intuitive and user friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is a need to enhance the ability of the platform to detect cases where the code has been copied from AI tools and other external sources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The rich question library, the ability to create our own tests, and the attention to the candidate and evaluator experiences, along with all the support they provide, are the best things in using HackerRank. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lack of questions for some specific tech stacks and some small, but annoying, usability problems when reviewing candidate reports or managing the tests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The HackerRank Developer Skills Platform helps us efficiently assess technical talent at scale with objective evaluations, automation, customizable tests, and data-driven insights, streamlining hiring and improving decision-making. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The HackerRank Developer Skills Platform can sometimes feel rigid, with limited real-world problem contexts, occasional false negatives in assessments, and a suboptimal candidate experience—especially for senior engineers who may prefer project-based evaluations over timed coding tests. HackerRank provides support for a majority of programming languages. I have never had a candidate who could not find their language on the list. Online syntax checkers and auto-completion are also pretty handy. I also enjoy the timeline feature of the Interview report, which could come handy if a detailed analysis of a candidate's performance is needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish HackerRank had (better) integration with services like Greenhouse and Google Meet since I saw candidates confused about which video conference feature to use — the one provided by HackerRank or the Google Meet that we normally send in the calendar invite. As for the Greenhouse integration I wish I could see the Code Interview Report being sent to Greehouse automatically. I also think UX can be improved as with the new design it is somewhat hard to find the program output tab. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The platform provides a seamless experience for both candidates and administrators. Its proctoring and reporting tools are highly effective and transparent, making it easy to ensure test integrity. I also appreciate the responsive and helpful support team – they resolved our issue quickly and professionally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far, my experience has been largely positive. One minor suggestion would be to improve the UI for accessing proctoring data across multiple test sessions – a more consolidated view would be helpful for recruiters managing large volumes of candidates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hackerrank has a large number of exercises with different levels of complexity as well as focused on different topics, which makes it easier to prepare a technical interview, and at the same time serves as an excellent tool to practice this type of interviews. As an interviewer, it has several tools that allow you to make the flow of the interview easier and be alerted about possible cheats during it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The way the waiting room is handled for the candidate seems a bit complicated to me, especially if several candidates need to be interviewed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The features are rich. I can judge a frontend developer, a backend developer, a system architect - all at one place. The integrated tools - excalidraw, draw.io etc are popular which makes it very easy for the first time users to get started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The invigilation monitor is bit noisy as it keeps flagging incorrect signals often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that my engineering team can create new tests, use pre-approved tests, easily log in to review candidate scores per each question on a test. I also love as a recruiter that I can personalize each email template for each test so it's a unique experience for each candidate. I LOVE how it integrates in to Greenhouse, and it's easy to choose which test to send with which email template. It's very easy to re-send a test link to a candidate, and it's very easy to share results outside of the HackerRank platform. We use HackerRank very frequently for the vast majority of our engineering roles. Customer support has been easy to get a hold of when needed, and my Account Manager is extremely helpful. I do think navigating the dashboard and finding the email templates sections is difficult. It takes a lot of digging to find the settings I'm looking for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

HackerRank is extremely flexible and allows you to create easily custom tests and submit them to the candidates. We have used the tool to screen many candidate types; the tool was always the proper solution for the assessments. I love the extract function; it's very helpful. It's hard to find anything I don't like about this tool. The only thing I can think of that could be improved is the requirement to publish the test before generating an invitation link. I often prepare engagement emails with the invitation link before starting the tests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
