495 HackerRank Developer Skills Platform Reviews
Large library of questions that apply technologies important to us and our customers.
Great variance of question types (programming, multiple choice, whiteboarding, more).
Real actual projects that can also run on my computer (as in, outside of HackerRank) when dealing with technologies like react, angular, spring boot, and more.
Very collaborative support team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing on my dislike list. There are items on my wish list, i.e. opportunity to have test setting that allows test reports sent to test taker.
My support team is open ears and collaborative at looking at feature opportunities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It helps outline the fundamental skills and level of understanding for candidates across basic, intermediate, and advanced skill sets. This is helpful for setting appropriate assessment bars for interviewing teams and to help recruiters understand skills surrounding newer or niche skillsets Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the developer skills platform is more of a reference or resource guide, so it will be helpful to see if questions or recommended ways of assessing added to the pages Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love how I can easily customize the coding challenge that we can send over to our candidates - whether it would be the dates, time, or type of coding assessment. Our company does not want to try getting other types of coding challenges in the market because HackerRank itself seems to be the best that we have, couldn't compare more. I dislike the idea that they do not have all the coding challenges that we need for all of our Software Engineers, like for Flutter Developers. I wish there would have been an option for them to take a look at that, but overall, it's looking good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the random test generator is very useful.
It creates sections with varying questions and each section has its' own time limitation and ability to pick random quetions.
I've been able to easily and quickly create a test and it's usually spot on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When creating a random generated test there's no visible option to move around any of the sections or determine the order of sections a candidate will face in the test. That would be a great addition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When I first implemented HackerRank with another company years ago, it was primarily take-home tests and typically only used for more entry-level candidates. Since then it's evolved exponentially, always listening to our needs along the way. The tool is brand conscious- with some customizable components that make it fit better for your company. The UI itself is sleek and more developed than many competitors in the same business. But the best part has been the partnership and the company's ability to listen to their customers that has created a variety of test types and the ability to truly customize the experience for our candidates. HackerRank has come to our aide to help build, expand, test, and build again. The ability to level the playing field for more skill-based hiring has been a special favorite. There are a few limitations around imports (flasks/git) that seem to be more of an annoyance than a must-have for some of our interviewers. We are hopeful that there will be some enhancements around testing for iOS/ Android development soon as well-- as this is the one area in that we are still using a different platform. I help manage the HackerRank relationship for our company. We are constantly in need of the best technical talent out there. While our team has used both assessments and interviews, the interviews platform is truly the most valuable part of the platform for our current needs. It allows our teams to have time with the candidates in a remote experience but also be able to dial in on their skill set, making sure they are right for the role they are interviewing for. If there have ever been any issues their support team and customer success teams have been quick to respond and they really value our partnership overall. Our team would not be able to grow at the speed of we are hiring if it was not for the HackerRank tool in place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
HackerRank is a bit difficult to navigate when beginning usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
HackerRank is easy to use and flexible. We have been able to create multiple tests using the questions already in the HackerRank database, but we also have the capability to create our own questions. The candidates get the test instantly upon us sending it via the system. We just enter their email address and click send. The rest is taken care of. Set up was easy. At first, we created tests that the candidates had a hard time passing because some of the questions were too hard. But we were able to recalibrate and found that there is an insights tab that tells you how many candidates have passed that particular question, so we were able to find questions candidates were more likely to get right. The level of care and attention to customer service, they are always open to feedback and act on it really quickly. They provide great insights into how we are using the platform and come ready with ideas on how to improve and get the best out of the platform and our package with them. What I really appreciate is, our account manager never assumes if she's unsure, but will make a note to check with the correct team and actually comes back to us without the need to ever chase.
I look forward to my regular catchups with our account manager, she ever drops the ball and is great at following up and helping us keep on top of what we need to do. Every interaction I've had with a Hackerank staff member over the last few years has been really positive. Would recommend! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When making changes to the comms sent to candidates, you have to be manually updated test by test, however, I don't need to do this often or for many tests so can't complain. Would be great to be able to make changes to all or multiple test comms at one time. (A very small issue I've only mentioned as I can't think of anything else I dislike). We used the HackerRank platform for the Support Engineer Hiring in our Organisation. I liked the fact that this was very customisable and was able to cater to our requirements. We were able to leverage the existing library to pick questions from. Moreover the tool also allowed us to add our own questions into it. This allowed us the flexibility to curate the test as per our needs and not just go with an Out of Box solution. The tool was pretty straightforward, and we were up and running with a 10 min demo by the HackerRank team. Kudos to the Team led by Ranjit, who helped us navigate thru the process. Shruthi & Ranjit were able to answer all our queries about the usability and features. They were also available and happy to join us on calls whenever there was a need from our end. So overall a very good experience!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have used it only once and in that experience, I did not find anything that I disliked. I may be able to share that insight when we have used it a few more times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As of now, nothing as such. The platform pretty much has everything one needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
