It is so great to have all our HR and Payroll in one space. I can see that long term there would be a lot more we can do in Employment Hero including using it for Appraisals etc, but at present we are still getting used to it. While being a small workplace we have found it easy to use and implement, with most features being straightforward to navigate. For the few instances we have struggled we have used the chat and call centre and had instant help to move forward. Our team like that they can update their super, tax and pay information and use the app to do any timesheets or leave requests. We do not have an HR team so being able to access each staff's information in this portal format is great. We have had a few issues in the way it is set up due to a third party assisting us, so have had to tweak it to work best for our unique work place, and no HR or bookkeepers on site, and that they have access. The sales pitch was excellent but then we strugglled to get support when we joined - once this was sorted though it has been very good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best about Employment Hero is how user-friendly and intuitive it is. Everything—from onboarding to offboarding—is easy to navigate, even for someone who’s not tech-savvy. The layout is clean, the steps are clear, and it saves so much time by keeping everything in one place. It really takes the stress out of HR tasks! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There’s not much to dislike about Employment Hero, but if I had to suggest one improvement, it would be to have a direct customer service phone line. Sometimes it would be helpful to quickly speak with someone instead of waiting for email responses or navigating through help articles. Having that option would make the support experience even better! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- Onboarding Candidates from the recruitment phase is so easy!
- Maintaining Employees Documents + Sign Off on new documents or updated policies is all electronic and kept in 1 place.
- 1 System for everything Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- The initial set up can take a little to get right.
- Some elements are not possible to access if you have managed payroll by EH.
- The side navigation bar dissapears when you select a module, this is painful if you are searching for a page and want to click through multiple pages.
- Sometimes difficult to contact customer support when you need assistance.
- If you create an account with an email address and make inactive, you cannot reuse this email address. Our initial set up used my company email address, and this user was made inactive because when our payroll module was added they added a new user with personal email address, cannot update my active user to have company email address, when managing payroll it is painful with communications and reminders going to my personal email address. No system is perfect, but Employment Hero generally has everything I need. The support chat response times on the HR side are quick and the Bot responses are also really helpful.
I'm enjoying the Hero Connect community hub, although I'd love to see more connection.
I LOVE the fact that you can build any report you want and save them in categories.
The WORK ap is straight forward and easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some workflows aren't easy to understand within the system, and my recent experience creating performance review periods was less than ideal.
For example, when creating a performance review you're asked to enter start and finish dates, of which I entered the start date for 2 weeks time, but that day all my employees received an email to say the performance review was ready to start. Apparently this normal, and it doesn't matter what dates you enter, the review will just get sent when you save it. There also isn't an option to create a draft and publish at a later date.
I'd like to be able to more easily update editable documents in the system too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Integrates both payroll and our HR processes and documentation all in one place. Helpful for our multi-location business and that remote workers and managers are able to access things in real time. It has streamlined what we do and made us more efficient. We also love the reporting functions, giving us real-time data and analytics of our workforce. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A lot of system changes and updates that are not always communicated to us, and which can totally change the look of where to find things, plus sometimes the software updates cause glitches that we then need to find a fix for (mainly in the integration through to payroll and the roster function). The product is so easy to use, its flows nicely, simple and effective to look at. The help guide is easy to follow. the chatbot they have is also very helpful, it gives you tips to read before its speaking to a person.
we have been using employment hero for 2 years and payroll has never been easier. we don't have the HR yet but it's something we will look into in the future. The implementation took 6 weeks, i was up and running live so easy. this was due to how the implementation is done and how helpful the staff were. there were 2 options, i took the self-implementation but EH was there all the way through it. we don't have it integrated into any systems but that's because our ERP is old. it does integrate into office 365 calendars nicely so all staff are able too see when their team members are away. i dont have any dislikes at the moment. it does all want i want it too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that Employment Hero is very user friendly and is a simple, easy to look at lay out. It does not feel complicated and does not overwhelm due to the "clean" look of the platform.
The implementation was fairly easy and, once you know how to do something or understand how it "thinks", then it is pretty intuitive to use.
Personally I use EH on a daily basis and find it has reduced my general admin time as well as added some easy "value add" to the team. Things like reminding me of people's birthdays so I can send a personal message wishing them a happy day. They love it and it only takes me a moment to send the email. I do not have to monitor calendars every day or every week etc.
There are many features that we do not use as yet, simply because I have not had the time to investigate and understand them fully and therefore have not been able to implement them, i.e the Shout Outs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My biggest frustration with EH during both during implementation and on an ongoing basis is the support. I find it very frustrating that I cannot call someone easily and chat through how to do something or an issue I have. Granted there are a lot of training videos available, but if you get stuck on them or just need a quick answer (i am more of a talk me through it than watch a video kind of person), there is no option for this. The Help provided via the Chat bot, used to be better, but now I find this too very frustrating and time consuming to navigate. You have to answer a lot of questions, double up on information and basically be extremely persistent before they connect you with someone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What we love most about Employment Hero is how easy it makes things for our team, whether it’s checking payslips, applying for leave, or updating details. It’s simple, convenient, and keeps everything in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While Employment Hero is a great platform overall, there are a couple of areas that could be improved. The chatbot can be tricky to navigate, most of the time I get the answers I need, but when I try to connect with a real person, the messages often don’t seem to go anywhere. No matter how many times I try, it sometimes just won’t register, which can be frustrating when you need support.
I’ve also found that the EH Work app can be a bit glitchy at times and doesn’t always function properly, which makes it hard to rely on when you're on the go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Employment Hero has made such a difference to how we manage things at Waterware. Before, everything was manual, including onboarding with spreadsheets, juggling documents, trying to track who had what device; this was all messy and time-consuming. What I love best about Employment Hero is how it is efficiently streamlined these processes. The onboarding and offboarding checklists are a game-changer for me, and it’s great being able to customise them for different departments. It’s made a big difference to how organised and efficient we are.
Bringing payroll into the same system just made sense for us. Tools like leave requests are handled automatically, everything syncs up, and there’s way less room for error. The mobile app’s been a hit too - staff can check their payslips or request leave straight from their phone. It’s one of those systems that just quietly makes everything run smoother behind the scenes. An excellent product! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I honestly can't think of any! So far I haven't come across anything I would like to see work differently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The linkages between HR and Payroll, plus the ability to keep all the information within one system. It is definitely better than a paper system, way more efficient.
It logs the changes in roles, salary, leave, records certifications etc. Which is all wonderful. The new forum is helpful because we don't have phone support. I would check it for something weekly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Processing the leave through payroll is the absolute pits. This would be our number 1 gripe.
Its not hard to learn on a basic level, but the level after that when you start to refine the detail, gets difficult if you don't have someone available to guide and explain it to you. Great system, but you need to understand it, or you are grappling around in the dark. You can see this by using the forum. 2 or 3 years in we are still learning.
