X-Ref has a really easy to use interface and the fact you can set up different templated reference checks to suit your roles/needs means setting up references is super fast. When processing hundreds of references a year, as an HR Coordinator it has saved me an immeasurable amount of time (no playing phone tag or scribbling notes). The IP address alerts mean you can be notified if there is any suspicious behaviour which is a great feature.
Managers love x-ref because they get a quick detailed response that they can refer back to or follow up on if needed. It has completely streamlined our process and we wouldnt be without it.

Nothing that I can think of generally. The only niggle I have is the when I enter an applicants details it brings up all of the country area codes when I wish it would automatically just show NZ (+64).

Xref is integrated with our recruitment system, making it a simple two-click process to request references. We are notified when references are complete and they can be accessed directly via Xref or from within our ATS.
I am very impressed with the algorithm that identifes any activity that might require further investigation, such as the candidate and referee logging in from the same IP address as just one example.
Customer support is local, responsive and committed to responding to any queries quickly and efficiently.

We have Xref integrated within our HRIS system (Success Factors) so it is really efficient to initiate a reference check with the click of a button. I have found it helpful that it is completed online as it saves me time during the recruitment process. I also think it is a better experience for candidate and for referees as they really can answer the questions in their own time and not have to worry about scheduling time to have a phone call with me. I have found in the past that candidates have asked me questions about the platform such as; changing a referee once inputted or, that the referee has received a lot of notifications to complete the reference check which they haven't liked.
This hasn't affected me but just some feedback I received from our candidates that are using it.
We are also in the process of trying to implement Police and Criminal Checks as part of our pre-employment process and this doesn't seem like a viable option with Xref and one of their partners so that is a little disappointing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The service provided by our Customer Success Manager, Nikolas was great when we first implemented the system. He was helpful and made himself available to answer all of our questions. Once the system is set up the process of initiating the reference checks is very quick and the progress notifications are invaluable in keeping us up to date with the progress of the reference check.
The ability for candidate and the referee to complete the reference on any device has ensured that reports are returned in a timely manner and are of a high quality also.
