We found the Scale Computing Platform to be very competitive from a cost stand point compared to VMware and other hyperconverged solutions. It was very easy to install and get up and running. My favorite part of the Scale Computing Plaform is the ease of patching. We used to spend weeks planning and gathering updates for VMware/Simplivity. "A Strong and Simple Hypervisor Solution"

What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

Scale is very easy to use on a daily basis. Having used their solution for nearly 5 years, I can't think of a time I've ever been stuck or had issues with their platform. When support is required, they've been quick and helpful to respond. Implementation was as easy as installing the hardware into the rack with cables, and let them handle the rest. We were able to migrate most of our VMs over with little support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

Scale is a locked-down solution. They don't license their platform to your own hardware. Their additional hardware support only lasts for 5 years from the purchase of the hardware, and their software support ends 2 years after that. I would prefer a solution that can be supported beyond this point. Also, since they are a smaller player in the field, some applications don't integrate nicely unless you choose one of their partners. For example, they have an integration with Acronis, but we use Veeam and therefore need to rely on agent-based backups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

The platform is very easy to use, offing a low on-going effort to get the infrastructure setup that an SMB would need. It can be easily configured in a variety of ways to cover things sure as DR, on-prem only, hybrid setups etc. Implementation can be done in under an hour. What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

I've been using the Scale HC platform for seven years now. I've installed four separate clusters servicing as primary production services and utilized others to serve as backups and recovery sources for business continuity. The Scale HC platform is by far the most intuitive and stress free product I've utilized as an engineer in terms of hyperconverged solutions. The firmware updates are seamless and I've never experienced any issues applying them. I've become confident enough with the product that I tend to deploy them during peak production hours with no worries that it will cause any performance issues. The support team is outstanding on the rare occassion that I've needed to utilize them. Integrating the solution into my existing environment was smooth and easy utilizing the Carbonite tool Scale requires to move from one solution to theirs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

I have very few "complaints" when it comes to the platform. The email system could be more granular in a sense of what alerts I want sent to which email addresses. The solution also requires support getting involved in order to enable SNMP. I also wish that it were easier to migrate guests from other solutions into Scale. Importing and exporting of VMs is done via file shares which I've had some struggles with but did get working utilizing IP addresses rather than FQDNs.
