Maximo Asset Management by IBM combines asset management with maintenance management. From a single system, companies can monitor and manage the complete lifecycle of their enterprise assets, including facilities, communications, transportation, production, infrastructure, and more. This centralized functionality ensures that users have visibility and control over active conditions and processes, while increasing productivity and reducing downtime. Maximo is a "all inclusive" software that can be used for whatever your business needs are; flexible enough to adapt to your company; and meets industry best practices to help establish process standards. Maximo UI is very easily configurable to provide a look that suits your needs and allows your legacy process workflow to be automated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Maximo can be configured to do most anything. Inventory management, scheduling, work orders, transportation, preventative maintenance for any size corporation that needs asset management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Maximo is so all-encompassing that there is no focus on any particular field. The software can be configured to meet any requirements but this will require an in-house Maximo guru or a contract with an outside company. It can be programmed to anything you need if you have the necessary staffing or funds to outsource. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My current organization used Assyst and this is MUCH better and more capable. We use it for management of Incidents, Service Requests and Changes which works great. You can attach documents and notifications work great, as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is not very intuitive, however, and is very expensive between the implementation and custom development (Maximo developers are expensive!). There are cheaper products (or free) out there, that's for sure, that will give you the same functionality. As well, we are looking for ways to dynamically update IT assets (workstations, servers, routers, etc) but there appears to be no way to do that. Reporting is also very limited without springing for the extra reporting module. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
