Capable and has amazing industry verticals which set Maximo apart from all competitors. The addition of HSE manager was a great value and the recent Supply Chain functionalities enhancement were spot on. The product lacks standards business processes, just like SAP, Maximo must ship with standard business process. Stressing on the same point, I'd rather spend time and money understanding the standard business process and using it as a starting point than having the absolute freedom to create whatever because this is where "replicating legacy systems" starts Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I'd love to see it scale a bit better. Maximo can be deployed to multiple servers, but I'd really love to see a Docker implementation. It comes with a SOAP service, but a REST service would also be better. Maybe this is around in future versions, but it seems absent in 8.5.

We have been unable to get Maximo Anywhere and Maximo Spatial working. We had made some strides in getting Spatial working, but then that got broken with a Maximo update to the product. IBM doesn't seem to support the Anywhere and Spatial products like they do the main Maximo product. Currently bugs in both products are delaying/preventing a rollout.
Maximo now has a Cognos offering, but little is shared about how that can be integrated with our existing Cognos implementation. In fact, I have been unable to get information from Maximo, and the Cognos team differs to the Maximo team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Maximo has helped enable our business to have an all-in-one solution for Asset Management and Tools Calibration. Similarly, Maximo is one of the few (if not the only) EAM system which is compliant with the FDA 21 Part 11 (electronic records and digital signatures). Maximo's configurability sets it apart from the competition in that it doesn't require a high degree of specialized technical knowledge to configure it to support specific business requirements and cater to pockets of excellence within the company or to lend agility to the business when requirements change.
