With this, we can quickly access data stored in hadoop, run federated queries across a variety of data sources.

Even when different applications having different SQL dialects, Big SQL will understand them and data engineers can make use of this highly!

I have used many DB's in different projects but IBM DB2 is the best I have ever seen. it's so compatible with any kind of operating system and performance wise its so fast & more powerful while comparing to other databases. We are using IBM DB2 for updating our logs, auditing purpose & saving the application data in DB for future reference. When we are making any kind of DB calls to IBM DB2 from our applications it's very responsive & fast. We implemented many complexes stored procedures for calling our applications & during executing those its so responsive & fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What i always declare about IBM products is the robust gets after it gets install, is a pretty fast and lite . Easy to install ,, integrates with differents opertaint system and finally you can have a free version with all the features . not much about the dislikes but there are a few :

1.- If you want to buy the full version is really expensive

2.- For installing in diferentes Opertatin system other than windows is a pretty hard problem to solve

1. DB2 is cost effective compared to most database RDBMS softwares.

2. There is no limitation on any operating systems on which it can be run - it is compatible with Windows, Linux, Mac etc. It can also be used with XML data.

I utilize Access databases frequently,

ignoring 'weird looks' given to me by IT professionals who consider anything

less than Oracle not a true database, but some sort of a 'toy'. However, DB2

fits the bill perfectly in some cases. Back in 1996, I had to resolve a problem

very quickly, by creating a 'tool' to keep track of problems encounters by

buyers from the procurement department in ordering certain parts, like parts

for old designs and currently unavailable due to obsolescence, or parts having

an unacceptable long lead time. The need was for a relatively simple and small

database, allowing recording of such problems, recording of the progress made

by the Component Engineering department in finding a solution and the recording

of the solution itself, when one was found. I selected IBM DB2 as a

platform, since it appeared relatively simple compared to more powerful

databases, and my proficiency in other members of the Office suite making the

learning curve shorter. And it worked very well. The implementation took only

three weeks and the results were very much appreciated by its users. I believe

What do you dislike about IBM Db2?

It cannot accommodate as many records or as many concurrent users an Oracle or similar database can.

It is not as reliable as a database of 'industrial strength' is.
