Technical problems due to system tapping into data housed for functionality. Mining financial data is very easy since it is like a spreadsheet. Benefits are once you understand the fact this is basically a spreadsheets with different worksheets that joins to perform a function. Any problems can be solved by analysis. What do you like best about IBM Db2?

The best thing which I like about IBM DB2 is that much larger database files can be accommodated in it. As big projects require this kind of database as large amount of data can be stored in it.We can easily change the view of query window.We can manage a large data with Db2. What do you dislike about IBM Db2?

The one thing that makes me to dislike it is that there is no real information value in messages and statistics pointing out the plan name, because there is only one plan. But this does not affect much.There is no debugging feature provided in DB2. It's not available for free users if your are integrating it with your web application. Recommendations to others considering IBM Db2:

I'd strongly recommend DB2 because of its secure features when we are working on a sensitive data set.We can easily manage the data and reference can be easily established between created tables. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about IBM Db2?

The speed of operations for copying data within DB2 is tremendous and the capability extends with similar length when talking about copying data from DB2 to an IFS file. We find the RRN values very useful for files which were not built with primary records at first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Db2?

Some of demonstrations on FTP and SFTP is not clear at IBM but other resources on internet balances for those. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about IBM Db2?

I have primarily worked on Oracle and in my line of work when it comes to reading and writing data into a RDBMS performance is what matters the most. I have noticed that both Oracle and DB2 are on par in most instances. I havent worked much on the latest cloud based offering of DB2 though which is why I am leaving my review based on the older versions of DB2. Its scheduling ability is a big plus. It's the speed and data integrity with IBM DB2. Looking towards z/OS & IBM hardware, ever component is custom built from ground up, leading to this power of DB2.

I hear 2/3 production issues per year on Oracle DB, compared to 1 per year on IBM DB2. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
