What do you like best about IBM Cognos Analytics?

I chose this platform because of the quality of the tools, it has very practical functions which allow you to visualize the data efficiently, and there is not only one way to display the loaded data so there is no problem when you want to adapt the data to different ways of implementing the analysis in different areas of my work.

The loading times really surprised me, by this I mean that no matter the size of the data loaded everything will be fast when it comes to starting to configure the visual reports. I have been trying to use other platforms but in none of them I can get the same response time from when the data is loaded to the point where the graphs can be generated.

I like how I can combine several inputs from different sources to generate the reports, with this I can create more detailed reports. The provision of importing different data sources is very useful for me because it allows me to easily generate reports without any problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Cognos Analytics?

It would be very useful to have a feature that shows a warning when errors are made in the creation of a report and it is not executed, this would help a lot to be able to solve the problem that the loaded database may contain more easily. It would also be nice if they added possible solutions to the problems that are generated.

At first glance, the interface lacks intuitiveness, it requires complete training even if you already have knowledge of data management in SQL to be able to implement said data to this platform, so the lack of intuitive tools made it difficult to be able to navigate within the interface and be effective for data analysis.

I had problems with certain browsers when working with this platform for the first few times, in some cases it simply did not display the virtualized elements correctly, for my solution it was only to use browsers that based on Chromium, because otherwise it will simply have errors even in displaying the drag and drop elements. Cognos Analytics features stringent data protection, unlike spreadsheets, where there is a considerable risk of losing original data while working in a team. Since each team member is given a different copy in this instance, any changes are unique to their edition. Incorporate an AI chatbot that can answer any query and even perform mathematical computations when requested in natural language, just like you would in a conversation with a friend. Consequently, no SQL code or queries need to be written. Over the years, great improvements have been made to the user interface. equal importance has been given to the administrator console as well. for instance, logging specific patterns is now made possible within the portal rather than doing the same in the server by editing files, which was time-consuming.

using x11 windows has been highly discouraged due to security concerns in my org. I dont see any approved x11 clients: Xming or attachmate reflection.

use of such x11 client tools have become challenging.
