Description

Product documentation your users will love. GitBook has everything you need to create beautiful docs for your users — so you don’t have to build your own editing tools, CMS, website and more. You can just focus on writing great content. GitBook’s branch-based Git workflow encourages your whole team to collaborate by creating a branch, requesting a review, and merging when ready. It’s a flow your developers already know and love — and they can even edit your docs in their code editor using Git Sync. That’s all backed up by AI that lets your users find what they need fast, publishing settings that put you in control of who can access your docs, and internal documentation for your own team.

What do you like best about GitBook?

The product us so easy to learn, and the shortcuts built in make the process of creating detailed, beautiful-looking documentation a breeze.

I'm so impressed with the ease with which we got up and running, with dedicated spaces for internal documentation, API documentation, publicly-available docs, and customer-specific private spaces where we can serve our enterprise customers with bespoke documentation.

Granular permission control, easy sharing, and some great branding options make GitBook a great product for anyone looking to up their documentation game.

Also: their support team is fantastic! I had one very niche problem that they solved in a flash. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

Honestly, nothing so far. The onboarding experience was slick, their support team is awesome, and I'm super satisfied with the entire product thus far. Keep up the great work! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

1. Look and Feel: GitBook looks more modern than other providers.

2. Productivity: we want great documentation but we don't want to spend an eternity building it out. GitBook makes building pages and sections incredibly easy, with some great shortcuts. I wish Google Docs had some of the stuff that's in here!

3. Granular control over who sees what. This allows us to have bespoke customer-specific pages that are secured to that customer only, while maintaining other spaces for internal documentation and more generic customer-facing content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about GitBook?

Organization: Gibook's allows me to organize and categorize my documentation very easily. The tagging and labeling allows me to easily manage this in a scalable manner and making it very easy for my users to navigate through.

Annotation/Highlighting: These features are simple and yet really helpful in documentation phase, reading, or when needed to keep track of WIP items and important things.

Search: The search functionality is intuitive. It enables me to quickly find whatever I am looking for and without having to scroll through results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

Delay in Sync and Ocassional Crash: During my usage, I had to to a hard refresh everytime when going throuigh the docs or even resulted in going through a previous version because it was not updated automatically. This became problematic when collaborating with an external 3rd party. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

To create, maintain documentation for internal development purpose and also share with our business partners and customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
