What do you like best about Gist?

It works. I need a simple chat widget to communicate with visitors to my site. For that purpose, it works pretty well. I can access it from my browser and the mobile app, and it supports push notifications, so I don't miss any conversations.

The information it stores about users is super helpful - especially their country of origin and pages they've visited on my website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gist?

The Gist team added too many features in recent years that aren't directly related to chat. The bots and automation part is nice, but I don't use it since my business isn't big enough to support and maintain automation.

When you don't respond in time, you receive a notification email telling you there's a conversation. If you don't go through the links inside the notificaitons, at some point, Gist will decide to automatically stop sending you notifications via email which isn't fun - it doesn't even tell you about it. Recommendations to others considering Gist:

Try it out. The integration is simple, and the results are satisfactory. It can grow with your needs. For my own small business, it is overkill with all its features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Gist enables users and potential customers to reach out to me directly, without the need to fill out forms or send emails. It also works well in collecting the email address of these users so I can follow up with them later. What do you like best about Gist?

What do you like best about Gist?

For sure the Live Chat, Knowledge Base, Scheduling the meeting, Email Marketing and the UI of the Live Chat is amazing. The Dashboard is so easy to use. What do you like best about Gist?

I love the chat bubble feature the most. It's an invaluable tool for my business, because it enables me to give great personalised customer service, by connecting with my website visitors in real-time. It allows me to understand why they came to my site, what the most popular articles they are searching for on my site, and it helps me to nurture them, build a relationship with them, and get them to subscribe to my social media and buy my products. What do you dislike about Gist?

I don't currently have workflows publishing for most of my workspaces, and that's the only thing that is holding me back from being fully successful with the platform, as I really need this feature. What do you like best about Gist?

It helped me help my customers when I'm not on my desk. Their mobile app is amazing. I think it would be great if they add more features like email scheduling etc in the mobile app Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gist?

Limitations on contacts, emails etc. I believe to stand out from the crowd these guys should offer everything unlimited. Trust me only 0.5% people will truly use your unlimited resources. Others will not even go over 10k contacts but they are stratified with that unlimited plan. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Gist?

The UI and UX of Gist makes it one of the better helpdesk platforms I've used. I've found that there is usually a trade-off or compromise when it comes to features and ease of use, but Gist marries the two wonderfully.

It integrates wonderfully with the rest of my stack and is extremely easy to deploy to sites.

What do you dislike about Gist?

The only thing I dislike is that without spending more on the product, I miss out on features like Webhooks. Fortunately there is still access to the API, but many tools I use rely on Webhooks, so that missing functionality (for me - given my plan) is a bit of a downer, but I would say that's the only gripe I have with the system. We have integrated Gist for our WordPress site which runs on BuddyBoss, LearnDash, and WP Fusion. We are able to use Gist not only as a support tool, but also as a CRM for WP Fusion to tag products and gate access to content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Gist?

The automated and personalized chat prompt that goes out on behalf of our Executive to a newly signed-up customer has been the most rewarding. Customers immediately come to know that if they are stuck at some point with our product, they can reach out to our Executives. It's very customizable as well. We can show the prompt to a selected set of users only (in our case, the Admins). We can show the prompt when the user has been on a specific page for too long etc.

Apart from this, we use the Post Messages as announcements for feature releases, upcoming events, etc., which helps us keep our customers engaged. We also use the workflows from Gist to periodic Marketing Emails to our customers.

Also, API-based integration makes Gist very powerful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gist?

Nothing much. The mobile app's performance can be slightly improved. And if the rule-based events can be made more advanced, for example, instead of writing "Users who performed an action in last X days", if we could write "Users who performed an action in last Y minutes", it will become much more powerful, and we will be able to utilize it even more. What do you like best about Gist?

Gist helps keep the bulk of our marketing in one location and easy to work with WordPress to set up the system.

One of the best features we like to use is the Chat Feature.

The chat widget can be added very easily using the WordPress Plugin created by Gist. The feature connects to a whole host of other Gist features like the live chat to your website visitor and gaining feedback to your built-in Gist database of information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gist?

WordPress update took some time but was update a few weeks back.

Additional chatbot options would be nice, but chat does come with a lot of features.

What do you like best about Gist?

My questions and concerns quickly answered either immediately or within 2 business days. I was in the beta group so was able to acquire a lifetime license for one low cost. They are continually improving their product. It is an all in one product and right now is providing me with more features than I am currently using but inspires me to explore more ways I can reach my audience. What do you dislike about Gist?

My biggest complaint is that as a lifetime member there are new features for which I am denied access. As a bera member I would have hoped I'd continue to receive full access to all new features. That being said, I am able to do everything I need to do to segment and otherwise reach and communicate with my audience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Gist:

It is a growing company and has many features other marketing software does not such as chatbots and the ability to book meetings with clients. Although at this point in time I am not using them, chatbots will be a function I can see having great value for my blog and the ability to book meetings reduces cost for those who need it in terms of needing to purchase another product to do that job. I am getting the hang of this platform. I have been able to substantially increase my mailing list through opt-in offers. I use Convertful forms which I can link to Gist. Its email options are easier to work out and I use both broadcast email to regularly attend to my list members as well as drip campaigns that send out emails automatically to list members. What do you like best about Gist?

Gist is a good for our sales department with its email marketing tools, workflows and more. It is also our main support service thanks to its chat, meetings and more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gist?

They don't have a good support service; they reply every 24 hours or more, which I think is too much for a live chat service. On the other hand, they restrict functions without previously notifying the client and without providing any detail about the incident. Finally, I have noticed that there are serious customers, as they tend to make offers that are not met in reality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is an excellent chat service, the software is good. Email marketing can be a headache in the sense that they can restrict you without any prior notice for not complying with their terms, but they don't tell you how you breached the terms.
