349 Coderbyte for Employers Reviews
We've used Coderbyte to set up multiple challenges for multiple types of roles and technical skills (ML, SW Eng, QA Testing, DevOps) and can't recommend it enough. When we've had issues and/or questions come up we've reached out and have received guidance immediately. Candidates have had no problems navigating the process and it effectively has helped us screen candidates in/out for such technical roles. We can invite as many candidates as we need to per assessment which has been another plus. Would highly recommend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It requires hiring managers to create assessments and be very thoughtful when doing this, not too easy or too hard. We've used it to establish a baseline and make sure the fundamentals are there to move forward in the interview process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

• A strong question bank
• Clean and easy to use interface for both interviewers and interviewees.
• Plagiarism detection and videos of screening tests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
• The test cases for some questions are too easy.
• Would appreciate native support for colab or jupyter notebooks (useful for data science hiring) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the only platforms that actually has support for React and other standard languages like Python. It was always reliable and proved to be an easy platform to collaborate on a prompt with candidates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There was one bug where the console (javascript) was not capturing a simple console.log(), however after reaching out to their support they promptly responded and implemented a quick fix. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The cost, since it's the best in the market considering all the resources included in their package. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Unfortunately, the API integration has to be bought separately, and the question pool is not so great, primarily because of duplicates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lots of examples of different tests.
Simple to send home assignment to candidates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Was not clear how to manage live test, where I can see the live coding of the candidate and edit what he sees.
Was not clear how to add custom questions to a test. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the ease of use of the system and the fact that the challenge questions are good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike the fact that I can't see the progress of an assessment until the whole thing is done. I would love to see how a person did on an individual assignment before they wrapped it up completely Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Making multiple templates, and including the solving time as part of the score. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not able to download results in a csv format Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the fact that you can create your own questions and that live coding interview is included with an built in IDE Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish coderbyte would allow you to create custom challenges that can be added to a screening, if it already does then I haven't figured out how to do it. Also I wish there was a way to automatically score the non-multiple-choice questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's simple to use pre-built tests and assure applicants know about the tools we're using. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some tests are tricky to use and could be more straightforward. They add unnecessary and strange complexity (such as, in SQL, requiring to return a column with spaces in its name - e.g. "Average Age"). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

CoderByte is very easy to handle and a complete tool. It offers everything to make the hiring process more accurate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike the lack of Android emulation (e.g React Native). But I'm not sure if this is a CoderByte issue or a browser limitation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
