There were a few things that I liked:

1. The quality of the pre-made questions. Especially for the coding assessments.

2. The ability to review the answers in depth.

1. Some of the UX feels clunky, like preparing custom interview questions

What do you like best about Coderbyte for Employers?

I checked out a lot of options and couldn't find a similarly-priced solution for our micro-company of 10 employees and 1 engineer. The "industry standard" companies had base plans that would have cost us ~$5000/year. With Coderbytes PPC, we get to interview 30 candidates for $350/year. What do you dislike about Coderbyte for Employers?

Answers to most of the questions could easily be found online. I had to put in a few hours of work to create my own questions and/or modify their questions to make sure users couldn't easily pull from the internet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Coderbyte for Employers:

We ultimately used zZom screenshare during our free trial, to share the coderbyte platform. I think they limit you to only one interviewer during the free trial. Using Zoom allowed us to expand the video screens, and have more employees viewing the candidates screen during the free trial. Also, we had some non-technical questions after the technical portion, so the full-video capabilities of zoom were nice to have during that portion, and we didn't have to start another video call after the technical interview was over. What do you like best about Coderbyte for Employers?

Strengths of the tool:

1. Intuitive platform - the participants can easily guide themselves and we have received positive feedback comparing to other tools

2. Provides the features of both being able to invite pax privately with a personalized message (set a personalized deadline) AND copy a public link so you can massively send it to a group of people.

3. Very helpful customer support and frequent emails about new features/ upgrades.

4. Video recordings of the participants writing code can help to avoid cheating.

5. Some challenges can be resolved in more than one languages, so, one assessment can serve for more cases ;) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Coderbyte for Employers?

Points of improvement:

1.Result-oriented results: Usually, the results received by the candidates are of 0-50%-100% scale per task, according to whether the participants' code runs properly or not. Ideally, as an IT recruiter, I would like to have some additional comments about why the result is shaped as it is/ what is the type of mistake in the code. This will help me evaluate whether the candidate deserves a 2nd chance/ had a difficult day or if they lack knowledge on the specific language

2. Accordingly, I would love to receive less "binary" results. (ex: 111%, 56%, etc)

3. **Major inconvenience**: Searching for the proper activity: In the "challenges selection" section, you cannot sort or filter the challenges in any way. I would love to have the opportunity to sort the challenges according to: time, difficulty, success rate, number of candidates who have taken the task, etc. Also, I cannot see the "tags" per task unless I add the challenge to my exercise. As a result, I may select an activity that is called "Array addition" and think that it ccan be resolved with multiple languages and later realize that it has - for instance- "Java" as a tag. What do you dislike about Coderbyte for Employers?

As of now I don't see any downsides with respect to features. One feedback that I have is regarding super admin access. I was already registered to Coderbyte before as a general user (not super admin). This year I subscribed to Coderbyte as a Super Admin but it was not allowing me to login as a Super Admin and was taking me to my old general user account. I had to get my super admin account password reset by sending email to Coderbyte to be able to login to my account. This process can be made better. May be if an email is already registered, and user buys subscription on the same email, both accounts should get merged to a single account with higher privilege. It is a highly recommended tool for evaluating candidates for recruitment. This tool will provide you great deal of features to assess the candidates on coding skills on a wide array of language platforms and provides very analytical result report of the assessment which will save you time, cost and overall turnaround period to shortlist the most right/suitable candidates for the job. I am recruiting candidates for the internship program using Coderbyte for Employers. The major benefit that I realized is that I was able to assess coding and algorithmic skills of the candidates right before their interview, so we were able to zero down on the right candidates for interview. Another benefit I see is that Coderbyte flagged those candidates who had copied the answer or had done reference search. The User Interface and the easy availability of the most accessible menus.

The permissions part is handled well in the Ui as well.

The coding questions arrangement changes each time any question is edited.
