"Easy to setup, manage and high availability."
What do you like best about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)?

1. Ease of setup via aws-cli, cloudfront, api or using AWS gui.

2. Automated backups and high scalability helps to offload database cluster management to AWS. This is very helpful for small teams.

3. Security and Authorization can be setup very efficiently using IAM and security groups and policies.

4. Support for MySql, Postgres and MariaDB help easy migration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)?

1. You cannot configure like autovacuum frequency etc. AWS managed RDS for you but in many usecases require to make some configurations for db fine tuning which you will not be able to do.

2. High dependency on AWS which makes it difficult to change cloud providers in future Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

And its back manchanis is perfect. I am using the RDS from last 2 year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient and Reliable Database Solution"
Product Reviewed: Amazon Aurora
What do you like best about Amazon Aurora?

I have been using Amazon Aurora for several projects over the past few years, and it has consistently proven to be an exceptional relational database solution. Here is an key point based on my experience:

-->Performance and Scalability:

Amazon Aurora's performance is remarkable. It offers high throughput and low latency, which has significantly improved the performance of our applications. The ability to scale both read and write operations seamlessly has been a game-changer for handling our growing data needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Aurora?

Reliable but with Several Drawbacks

*Complex Pricing Structure

The pricing model can be complex and hard to predict, especially for larger deployments or variable workloads. Understanding and optimizing costs requires careful planning and monitoring. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Convenient and Reliable, but Costs Rise with Scale""
What do you like best about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)?

The thing that impresses me the most in Amazon RDS is how it simplifies database management by automating processes like backups, patching, and scaling. In this way, we can focus on the development, rather than on the infrastructure. This saves us a lot of time and does not bind us to a specific DBA. What's more, through Multi-AZ deployments, high availability is already there, out-of-the-box, which reduces the likelihood of downtimes, and so easy to set up read replicas for performance optimization. The assortment of supported engines for databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle, among many others, also allows us to be flexible depending on the needs of the project. All in all, RDS strikes a great balance in convenience and reliability Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)?

One thing that I dislike about Amazon RDS is the lack of control it gives in respect to low-level database configurations, which may be restrictive in advanced customization or fine-tuning. On top of that, the costs grow very fast while your workloads are expanding, especially with Multi-AZ deployments, read replicas, and larger instance sizes. This convenience might come at a cost: for high-traffic or write-heavy applications, the pricing structure could become difficult to manage, and you must have actively monitored and optimized your usage to avoid unexpected expenses. It also does not support some of the features available in self-managed databases, which can, in turn, be limiting for certain specialized use cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It has been an amazing experience shifting from on-prem self managed database to RDS"
What do you like best about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)?

The best thing about RDS is the auto-scaling feature. Previously, I was using on-prem server to host my MySQL database and managing the storage and traffic was a huge concern for me. By offloading patches and infrastructure management, I am now more focused on other things. I personally like the read-replicas and their storage autoscaling the best features. I can easily integrate my RDS with tens of AWS services securely without any cost. I don't have to daily check on its status and I can just look at my Email if something goes wrong with the RDS. I can easily spin up a copy of database for staging environment from a snapshot. I did get stuck in implementing audit logs but the customer support was really good in helping me out. It is very easy to use and implement. I use it daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)?

I only dislike one feature of RDS but that's my opinion. I want to ssh inside the RDS instance to check some things out. For example, I know I can delete and view logs from RDS console but to open and close logs one by one takes a lot of time while if it was terminal, it would be really fast. "Is AWS cloud right for you?"
Product Reviewed: AWS Cloud
What do you like best about AWS Cloud?

There are several things I like about AWS cloud, It provides many features like:

- high availability through az's (availability zones), regions, etc.

- high performance regarding network and compute power.

- security.

- Excelent support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Cloud?

I would say one cons, is that is not something maybe for small business, if you're beginning with your company, another host provider would be a better fit for you. Also, you have a certain knowledge to deliver a good, reliable good infrastructure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
