"Introduction to AWS Databases"

What do you like best about AWS Databases?

It is an Managed Pass service provided by the AWS. So all the infrastructure hassles such as patching security and so on is handled by the provider and only user connection and database needs to be managed by the user.along with that it provides multiple engines from mariadb to oracle to MySQL , MySQL and postgresql Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Databases?

High cost for the Databases uses and integration with Oracle db can be difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about AWS Cloud?

AWS offers a wide range of services, from compute (EC2), storage (S3), and databases (RDS, DynamoDB), to more advanced tools like machine learning (SageMaker) and serverless computing (Lambda). This vast array of services makes AWS a one-stop-shop for most cloud computing needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Cloud?

In some cases, users have experienced inconsistent performance with AWS, particularly in heavily used regions. While AWS has a strong global infrastructure, performance can vary depending on location and time of day Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My experience with AWS RDS services"
What do you like best about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)?

I've used the AWS RDS service for my company's dev, uat, and production environment, RDS is very helpful in managing objects in the database because AWS RDS is fully managed service, so I don't need to continuously manage the operating system in the database, so I can focus on developing queries and objects in the database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)?

Although the aws rds have many advantages, I also still face limitations when I use AWS RDS like some features in Oracle Database on premise, not yet available on AWS RDS, and also expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about AWS Cloud?

No doubt in it definitely the greatest and wonderful services it offers along with the clear UI and also each service has a small explanation in the AWS website.

While using it we the students some times get into trouble then the support that is provided is unmatchable by the other cloud services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Cloud?

The privacy and security issues.

Yes they are best for experts but, for the beginners like us its unbearable and difficult. We need a lot of time to invest to delete something and also the complete deletion might not happen, if we are even a little careless a lot of cost is imposed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"RDS is the way to go for SQL needs"
What do you like best about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)?

Encryption and security are handled very carefully in RDS. If you want total encryption on the db itself and do not want AWS interference in encryption, AWS provides way-TDE support for MYSQL and Oracle dbs and you can have your own cloud HSM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)?

I would say the way they offer RDS services. It is very confusing for new users to choose between Multi-AZ clusters and Aurora. Both are very different and work differently underhood. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Comprehensive Overview of AWS’s Managed Database Service"
What do you like best about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)?

Amazon RDS is fantastic for its ease of use. It automates backups and updates, freeing you from tedious maintenance tasks. Plus, its reliability and high availability features ensure your data is safe, making it a great choice for developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)?

One downside of Amazon RDS is that it can be more expensive compared to self-managed databases, especially as you scale. Additionally, you might encounter limitations with certain configurations and customizations, which can be frustrating for users needing more control. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"What is Amazon Aurora and why should I use it?"
Product Reviewed: Amazon Aurora
What do you like best about Amazon Aurora?

The perfect feature in the Amazon Aurora that is most appealing to me is that it has high scalability alongside high performance. Support for MySQL and PostgreSQL makes the Aurora easy to deploy in the existing applications, and its automatic backup and recovery features are very useful in ensuring data integrity. The ability, in addition, to scale out or in resources as per demand also makes it attractive for such workloads which are highly variable in nature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Aurora?

One thing I dislike about Amazon Aurora is all of the things that it comes with; for instance, the cloud is easy to manage but the learning is a bit long. I also found it difficult at the beginning to set up the database and configure permissions. In addition to that, while most advanced customizations which are supported by customers’ insensitive and Aurora is highly scalable, there are some constraints that may not allow customized requirements that touch on some very advanced application development. "Reliable and Scalable Database Solution with Minor Limitations"
What do you like best about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)?

Amazon RDS offers excellent scalability and reliability, making it a great solution for handling databases in a cloud environment. The automated backups, ease of replication, and robust security features save a significant amount of time and reduce administrative overhead. Its ability to manage multiple database engines, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle, provides flexibility to adapt to specific project requirements. The user interface is intuitive, and the integration with other AWS services is seamless, enhancing the overall experience for developers and administrators alike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)?

One downside of Amazon RDS is the limited control over the underlying infrastructure, which can be frustrating for users who need more custom configurations or performance optimizations. Additionally, the pricing can escalate quickly, especially for high-availability setups or when working with large-scale databases. Monitoring and logging, while generally effective, can be challenging to navigate and set up in detail without relying on additional AWS services like CloudWatch. "Amazon Aurora"
Product Reviewed: Amazon Aurora
What do you like best about Amazon Aurora?

Amazon Aurora offers exceptional performance and scalability, combining the speed and availability of high-end commercial databases with the simplicity and cost-effectiveness of open-source databases. I appreciate its ability to automatically scale storage and compute resources as needed, which ensures optimal performance even under heavy workloads. Additionally, its compatibility with MySQL and PostgreSQL makes it easy to migrate existing applications without significant changes. The automated backups, continuous monitoring, and failover support also contribute to its reliability, making it an ideal choice for mission-critical applications Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Aurora?

One downside of Amazon Aurora is its cost, which can be higher than other database options, especially as your usage scales. While it offers excellent performance, the pricing structure can become expensive for smaller projects or when dealing with very large datasets. Additionally, some advanced features available in native MySQL or PostgreSQL aren't fully supported in Aurora, which can limit certain use cases. Lastly, the reliance on AWS infrastructure means there’s less flexibility in terms of multi-cloud or hybrid cloud strategies Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
