Patch Management Software

Typically, Patch Management is a capability of a variety of other G2 Software categories. See more below to select the

best Patch Management Software.

Patch management refers to identifying, creating, and installing patches to ensure application safety and functionality. While programs are running, necessary alterations and improvements will come in the form of a software patch. The most directly related software category is vulnerability management. These tools will help alert IT administrators and automate tasks associated with soft patching. Both network monitoring and enterprise IT management suites will provide similar capabilities with significant additional functionality. Network monitoring software will constantly track network performance and reliability. Enterprise IT management suites provide a larger control center for all components of a system's IT infrastructure including patch management.

What do you like best about NinjaOne?

We've been with Ninja since 2016 and they've been an excellent partner. They are responsive to both billing and service requests and have continually made the RMM tools better and better. They've been a cornerstone part of our MSP business and we very much appreciate the partnership. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NinjaOne?

Reporting could be stronger, especially end-user-facing reports that convey the value of what we are providing to our customers. Occasionally we get some hit or miss with the patch management but I'd say it's 95% effective in getting patching done correctly. I'd like to see a little more partnership on the marketing side (i.e. MDF funds, or marketing consultation help to grow both our businesses). Overall, though, our experience has been great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

GIves us a tool to manage our customers endpoints and provide patch management, remote monitoring and remote support at a reasonable price. We also utilize their NinjaBackups services and the Teamviewer, Splashtop and Webroot integrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Powerful endpoint management solution.”
What do you like best about Atera?

Atera is a powerful remote management platform that we've integrated into our IT operations for managing endpoint devices like computers, servers, and mobile phones. It offers full control over both the devices and applications we manage, which is vital for our IT team. The admin dashboard is simple to customize with a drag-and-drop interface, making it easy for me, as a data analytics manager, to set up the tools I need to monitor in one place. The left-side navigation simplifies our workflow by giving quick access to key features like remote access, asset management, and alerts. Atera's training video guides and tutorials help our teams implement best practices for device and software management and fix misconfiguration if any. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Atera?

One area that could be enhanced is the reports section because I see more potential for Atera to use AI to automatically analyze and generate deeper insights, like identifying usage patterns or predicting potential device failures, making our reporting even more proactive for troubleshooting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Atera solving and how is that benefiting you?

Atera plays a key role in solving critical IT issues quickly across our team. For example, as a data analytics manager, I’m responsible for overseeing our team’s workgroup data servers and analytical applications. Atera allows me to monitor these systems remotely, ensuring they’re running efficiently without needing to be on-site. The platform notifies me in real time of any hardware/software issues or potential security threats, which means I can address problems before they escalate and disrupt our workflow. For instance, I can resolve server issues on my own before they impact the team, or I can escalate them to IT with a support ticket or through live chat. This flexibility means no downtime, which is essential for our fast-paced projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Very important and appropriate solution for our AWS cloud Environment”
What do you like best about AWS Systems Manager?

Since, Macie covers s3, cloudwatch covers VPC logs, Cloudtrail with api calls within services. There were some limitations within them. Since our infrastructure may be secure, but in case of defense in depth, we should always consider regular patching of EC2, identify unwanted softwares. Who and when it happened. All these should be logged for correlating purpose. System Manager with help of agents and aggregators shows the posture of an OS or an EC2 or running core. The integration is also very simple with other services to make sure security and compliance is in stand. Coming to patch manager, using playbooks were pretty easy and risk free as it could be triggered based on rules. Thanks for such a service. Implementation and support are always available from docs, whitepapers, community etc, . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Systems Manager?

Downside is, Overall , in view of compliance sometimes PII uploaded to s3 can be identified with Macie. But when its an image or pdf containing photo copies of such personal sensitive information its hard to identify. It might be stored on the ec2 or s3. But figuring out it is complex. We do have OCR techniques in some services, which can trigger ec2 playbooks. Yes , it can be achievable with right problem solving technique and using the required services. “Solid product backed by a very engaged company that wants our input and takes actions on it”
What do you like best about Entuity?

The deployment of ENA has allowed us to retire multiple other products and reduce the number of management IPs we have to configure in SNMP from 7-9 down to just two. Since that initial deployment, we have expanded it's use globally we allowed us to retire an additional 7 tools.

Possibly more than technical side, the relationship we have been able to build with the owners, Park Place, and the level of access to development and their senior leadership team as mean that we continue to get to steer direction on new features in the product to make sure it fits our needs as a service provider. I believe this is the best partnership we have had with any vendor in our history. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Entuity?

The biggest challenge is lack of name recognition as we leverage ENA as part of the services that we provide to our client base. From targeted marketing or more highly visible partnerships, the Entuity name needs more recognition in the IT Network world. They were purchased by Park Place a few years ago which has helped in some areas but not in the area of name recognition in the monitoring space.

One other area of concern, which is likely true with many vendors, but something we didn't used to see with the Entuity folks is they tend to defer instead of just coming out and saying 'no' to some questions. If we are asking for them to support something new that doesn't make sense to them we would appreciate a more open and honest answer. I recently met with their executive team and got those answers that their engineers will no longer provide. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Entuity:

Do a trial and work with the sales engineers. As a hosting company we have a very large and complex network and produces situations that they could not handle. The sales engineers immediately took those to development and in roughly one week we had a custom hot-fix that addressed all of our concerns. And to our delight, all of those changes were included in the GA product release to the public. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Entuity solving and how is that benefiting you?

The biggest has been tool consolidation. When we are supporting a client that is having a performance problem, the ability to go to a single console to see all the network views that we care about (instead of half a dozen different products) goes a long way to reduce the time to resolution. Then on top of that are all the event management rules we can leverage to control unwanted noise and out of the box integration to our preferred enterprise management tool, BMC TrueSight.

Another major gap that we have used Entuity to fill is to have regular backups of network equipment configurations across many brands. There are still some gaps but it is narrowing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Centralized management and fully automated platform”
What do you like best about Nerdio Manager?

With Nerdio Manager, we can manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) for all of our customers within one portal. We almost use it every day to monitor that AVD status.

The best thing I like about Nerdio is its automation. It can combine a series of complicated steps if I do it from Azure to a single click. For example, update the Gold Image. If I do it from Azure, it takes me 30 mins to 1 hour with steps of sys-prep, snapshotting from disk, saving to image, etc. But with Nerdio, it's just a single click on "Save as image". The rest of the thing will be done by Nerdio. We just need a cup of coffee and wait till it is completed. It gives us status update step-by-step. If anything went wrong, it's easy for us to troubleshoot based on the status and error message. It saved us a lot of time and effort on monthly patching.

The other thing I like is the auto-scale. The auto-scale settings are way more powerful than the Azure built-in scale plan. Also, the history of auto-scale makes us easy to optimise auto-scale to save customers' costs.

The deployment and integration for a customer is very simple. The initial setup of the whole AVD environment can be done within 30 minutes by following the wizard. I love its automation.

The customer support is also excellent. Support can find the root cause quickly and give us solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nerdio Manager?

Not something I dislike, but a suggestion. The AVD troubleshooting still needs to go to Azure Insight, not from Nerdio itself. But Nerdio gives a clear link to redirect to Azure portal AVD Insight. I can see Nerdio are adding more functions from Insight already, like CPU and RAM usage of each session host, RTT of each user, etc. I am expecting more functions will be integrated into Nerdio. So I don't need to jump to Azure for anything moving forward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Nerdio Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?

The excellent automation benefited us a lot. For example, saving and updating gold image, batch creating new session hosts, initially deploying AVD for new customers, setting up and optimizing auto-scale for AVD host pool, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Feeling much better about network config backups”
What do you like best about BackBox?

I like BackBox a lot because of its unbelievable automation features. It eliminates a lot of human labor. As another syteme, performing backups of our network devices every night is a large burden relieved by the automation of the task. This guarantees that we can always put back a recent setting in case anything happens to go awry. The compliance reporting is also simplified thus making the audits much less painful. We have the ability to rapidly retrieve reports of device hardness of our total infrastructure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

Advanced automation design may take a bit of steep learning curve on BackBox. Its user interface is slightly clunky or perhaps not as intuitive as it might be. Occasionally, we may need to encounter small bugs following updates and these may be irritating. Interfacing with truly specialized or out-dated devices also often needs custom scripting. Not every situation is a cured plug and play. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BackBox solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our activities were to do a regular backup and configuration checking and would take hours per week. It was easy to make a mistake which could not always be traced. Today, BackBox does all that vital work automatically on our behalf. It carries out regular back-ups every night, and it imposes our security policies actively. This leaves our staff free to work on strategic projects rather than on routine tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“A truely unique product challenging the way we do Enterprise Service Management.”
What do you like best about Xurrent?

Xurrent excels best at defining how organisations truely deliver services to their customers. Their unique take on this brings us down from our abstracted ivory towers and brings us back to ground. Allowing for the creation of service catalogues and service delivery that matches what occurs in real life. Ultimately this leads to greater effficienies within resolver teams and a net positive for end users consuming a service that is in familar language.

The ability for Xurrent to scale up with an organisation and drive maturity is second to none. Using its unique tenant based feature, multiple accounts can be spun up for varying departments such as IT, HR, Legal, Risk, Security / Cyber etc. Services delivered between these departments are trivial to implement which for other tools on the market right now would be challenging to otherwise impossible.

Another unique feature about Xurrent is fully integrated SIAM and this comes out in the way they handle their customer support. Tickets or issues being raised about Xurrent can be created within the tool itself (no longer the days of having to go to a seperate supplier support portal) enabling a use case where an organisation's end user may raise a question about xurrent which goes to their internal support team, who then may escalate this up to their implementation partner who then may escalate it up to Xurrent themselves, all the while the note history is visible between every organisation fostering open collaboration.

Lastly Xurrent, and the people who run it are fantastic. They have a fantastic product, and their ongoing stewardship of that product is excellent. I would wholeheartdly recommend Xurrent to any business looking to maturity their IT Service Management or Enterprise Service Management positions and want a fresh take on an otherwise stagnant market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xurrent?

The only major drawback with Xurrent currently is their UI is slightly dated feeling.

That being said there is a whole new UI release coming shortly on their development roadmap so I can see this issue going away soon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Nicus Administrator review”
What do you like best about Nicus?

The tool is very straightforward to administer. I have 13 regular users in our IT Finance team plus a variety of users in other areas of IT and the Business. The normal administrative functions are easy to use and allow me to see most of the views I need out of the box. Customizing reports and tables is a drag and drop interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nicus?

There are a few views I would like to have as an administrator that are not part of the regular report package. This makes it harder to see what reports are available to particular users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Nicus solving and how is that benefiting you?

WE have transferred all the day to day work of the IT Finance team to Nicus. This has gotten them off of multiple spreadsheets and allowed better reporting. One team member told me that now the tools used are not the bottleneck but getting the reports from the cost center owners. We do all financial reporting out of Nicus now and the IT directors are used to seeing the financial reports in Nicus. We are now expanding to creating a Cost Model and generating the first Bills of IT to validate with the business side. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Site24x7 – A Powerful and Intuitive Monitoring Platform That’s Transformed Our Service Delivery”
What do you like best about Site24x7?

We’ve been using Site24x7 for over a year to monitor our IT infrastructure, cloud services, and customer environments—and it has truly raised the bar for how we approach observability and uptime management.

Key Strengths:

🔹 Unified Monitoring: Whether it’s servers, network devices, websites, public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), or application performance, Site24x7 brings everything under one intuitive console. This has greatly reduced tool sprawl and improved correlation during incident diagnosis.

🔹 Custom Dashboards & Alerts: The flexibility to build tailored dashboards and configure multi-level alerting ensures we catch critical issues before they become user-impacting. The anomaly detection and AI-powered alerts reduce alert fatigue without compromising visibility.

🔹 Integrations: Seamless integration with our ITSM tool (ConnectWise), Slack, MS Teams, and Opsgenie ensures incidents are routed instantly to the right teams, accelerating resolution times and improving SLA compliance.

🔹 Root Cause Analysis (RCA): The RCA reports provide deep insights into downtime or performance bottlenecks. This not only helps in faster remediation but also supports trend analysis and proactive improvements.

🔹 Cloud Cost Monitoring: The FinOps features are a great bonus—helping us track and optimize cloud spend, something many monitoring tools don’t offer out of the box.

Results We've Seen:

Reduced Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR) by ~40%

Improved SLA adherence and customer satisfaction

More proactive and confident change management, backed by real-time metrics

Final Verdict:

Site24x7 is not just a monitoring tool—it’s a strategic enabler for IT teams serious about uptime, performance, and customer trust. It has become a non-negotiable part of our operations toolkit. Highly recommended. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Site24x7?

The UI can feel overwhelming at first, and the mobile app lacks full parity with the desktop experience. Report customization could be more flexible, and alert tuning needs some manual effort to reduce noise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Site24x7 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Site24x7 gives us unified visibility across servers, networks, and cloud services, helping us detect issues faster, reduce downtime, and meet SLAs. It replaced multiple tools and made our operations more proactive and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
