What do you like best about VMware Workstation Player?

Its light version of virtual platfrom that allow to run multiple operating system on your PC or laptop .Its very very convenient because no need to reboot to switch between them .It is easier to use VMware Player than installing them directly to your PC, as it would take much longer. What do you dislike about VMware Workstation Player?

Hardware configuration for different version of operating system installation is bit of difficult on this platform, MAC OS installation not support directly on it. If you have just a few VM available it's ok but keep in mind that you can't really regroup them. Using a naming convention is an easy way around the problem though. What do you like best about VMware Workstation Pro?

Great tool to create, edit, mount, run, and share virtual machines.

Easy change and installation of OS, like Windows and Linux.

The main features that I like is the large amount of settings you get with the pro version of this product, mostly for business environments.

The ability to work with the enterprise level of this product allows multiple virtualization, virtual machine sharing, integration with vSphere (vCenter server, ESXi hosts), remote connection and simple integration to the cloud.

What do you dislike about VMware Workstation Pro?

The slightly high cost for new users.

Some problems exporting virtual machines, it is not so easy.

What do you like best about VMware Workstation Player?

The making of the program is really amazing.The user interface is quite appealing,compatibility with many devices is another key feature here.

We use Vmware mainly to test apps before we can install them to our machines.

vmware tools installation is usually a problem especially for unexperienced users.A tutorial should be included for as many os as possible.

Workstation player is good if you want to run another operating system in your PC. It is very easy to deploy and set up virtual machines. What do you like best about VMware Workstation Player?

It’s robustness and ease was to work is great.

What do you dislike about VMware Workstation Player?

Once working in Workstation player, I have usually used it with various flavours of Ubuntu. It’s works like a charm. Sometime though, while you are working in the workstation, it will hang and won’t respond. What do you like best about VMware Workstation Player?

This tool is one of my favorites, to perform all kinds of tests, in different operating systems, you can create all kinds of systems and execute them in moments, this tool, virtually all types of operating systems, both mobile and desktop, something that I really like this tool, it is not only the number of operating systems that can be used, but also the versions of them, sometimes I need to perform tests with different applications, on old operating systems, and with Workstation, I can do it in minutes, with no need to install the system, on a normal hard drive. What do you dislike about VMware Workstation Player?

the virtualization of current operating systems, especially the new versions of mac, does not work very well, they are slow, the devices are not fully compatible, and it takes a long time to configure them, so that they can be used, more or less appropriate, the consumption of resources is exaggerated, for this type of systems, and can not be used as it should be, the same happens in the versions of modern operating systems, from android 7 onwards, there are many conflicts with the hardware. What do you like best about VMware Workstation Pro?

Workstation Pro is very powerful that it open and start new machine real quick and this is one feature I didn't find in other virtual machine software. With the ability to enable user to customize memory assigned, workstation let user be aware of their RAM used and run the virtual machine smoothly based on host operation system working properly.

Workstation also has the detailed settings for network adapter options which benefit my project a lot. Once I work with some network security featured virtual machine and basically what I did was to test the network connection and data transfer performance under different network settings. Bridged, NAT, LAN Segmenting, Bandwidth...all these options really helped me a lot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Workstation Pro?

There is not really much things that I would say I dislike about workstation pro. Two things.

Firstly, every time I close the window of virtual machine I am working with, the workstation home window will also be closed, even though at most time I just want to switch to another virtual machine and it force me to reopen workstation software again. Kind of inconvenient.

And when I enter the full screen mode of my vm, the command bar always shows up there even I unpin it. I know that bar is important but user experience also matters, by which I mean virtual machine workstation should make user feel like they are really working with another full-featured operating system but not a virtual one even though it really is.
