what I do not find very thorough and clear, are the logs released in case of failed or failed backup.

Veeam makes the backup process quite simple. Easy to configure and pickup without advanced knowledge ahead of time. You can also get more advanced with the configuration and use remote repositories and replication to backup the data to different sites and to disk for air gapped backups. The recent change in licensing model gives you more versatility since it switched to machine count instead of host, but frankly it appears to have been a cash grab more than anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
