"Good ESP, decent pricing and support"

What do you like best about SparkPost?

IT does what you need it to do... send your emails, however this is not a standalone situation, you'll need an interface to make it work properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SparkPost?

The reporting is horrible. You can only get 100 records over any span of time, which is cumbersome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering SparkPost:

Don't rely on it for reporting, as you shouldn't anyway. Make sure that your API connections are done properly to have all pieces talking to each other. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very capable email sending platform with a great API"

What do you like best about SparkPost?

What do you like best about SparkPost?

What do you dislike about SparkPost?

First they suspended me for sending spam email before I'd even sent a single email. They did apologize and reactivate my account.

After running a few tests, we noticed emails to hotmail weren't arriving. Not bouncing, not delayed, marked as delivered but never appearing. When we sent to them regarding this - and that our test from 4 other providers to the same address with the same email content were arriving, they kept on saying "from our side all is ok, check your junk email". The emails were not in junk email, or nowhere at all. They simply have no idea where their emails go. For an email sending service, this is sort of a big deal :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about SparkPost?

They are very responsive and provide "white glove" service. If you are paying for their service, you definitely feel like you are being taken care of. Prompt updates and deliverability reports e-mailed regularly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SparkPost?

It is difficult to get any desired changes on their roadmap. Unless a lot of their customers, or their biggest customers want the change as well, you will likely not get your change request completed. Some of the changes are pretty necessary for our solution. They can even be obvious features that should be available, they will agree, but still not move quickly on it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SparkPost solving and how is that benefiting you?

My team wanted someone else to handle our deliverability and template management. They monitor our deliverability and alert us of any issues. We handle our own user segmentation, but even if we mess up, their system won't let us spam users unnecessarily. What do you like best about SparkPost?

The attention to detail, as an enterprise customer, SparkPost does a fantastic job managing deliverability. Implementation went smoothly. The best part about being a SparkPost customer is all of the things I DON'T have to worry about. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In regards to your frustrations around our approach to partnering vs. building our own segmenting toolset; we empathize with you. While we're really exceptional at email infrastructure, we believe there are many exceptional front end companies whose core competencies work well with ours, and so we focus on making their integrations into SparkPost simple and seamless. That being said, we're always looking for ways to evolve, and putting some automation towards segmentation, particularly around driving engagement and revenue, are some thoughts we have for the future. "Using sparkpost after the end of mandrill for us"

What do you like best about SparkPost?

Compared to other email services the free plan for sparkpost is very generous and it is a good start for startups and small businesses. They have grown quite a bit after the end of Mandrill and have have some issues because of that. But now the services are up and running on great uptime and quality.

The support is quite good and they usually respond to tickets on a day or so.

What do you dislike about SparkPost?

Lack of some functionalities such as see the body of the sent e-mail and sandbox mode. I really dislike the things we have to do to test the sending of transactional emails... Some times configuration for it to work properly is hard Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering SparkPost:

If you are looking for a good transactional email service to start your business I would definitely recommend Sparkpost for they have good prices even when you (hopefully) escalate. They have great support and the API integration works very well. They also have integrations for many languages such as Ruby on Rails, which we are using right now.

Deliverability is good even for shared IPs and it helps you to set good reputation for sending domains. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
