54 Secoda Reviews

The integration with Snowflake, dbt, and Tableau really acted in an immensely helpful way for us to draw the lineage and easily conduct an impact analysis on any changes. In addition to this, the questions feature and data quality checks feature helps a lot.
Lastly, the ability to document and preview the results of codes also helps in using Secoda. The customer support is fast and all our questions are answered. It's easy to use for non-technical folks with the AI feature. It's used frequently by users for data exploration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Secoda is a great tool. The initial setup and understanding the flow can be different compared to other platforms but the customer support offered by Secoda really eases the implementation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like the best about Secoda is its ease of use and the great autonomy it gives the user when configuring the product. It allows you to create a data catalog that tailors your needs perfectly.
They also have interesting features, like automation and documentation templates, that make it easier to work and collaborate with your team when using the data catalog.
Finally, their AI features are exciting and they have kept improving (AI persona, ability to select which LLM to work with, observability of the actions performed by the LLM when building the answer, AI assistant on Slack) on this part so I look forward to seeing what's next. Notably, I think they should move forward in assisting on how to create relevant pre-prompts for AI personas Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are two main downsides in my usage of Secoda:
- First, there are too many bugs, and they often impact cool features of the product, like automation which makes it very frustrating. I reckon that their support teams are responsive and that bugs are often fixed in less than 2-3 working days, but the platform would win a lot if it increased its reliability
- Second, the system of teams is a bit complex to apprehend, especially for the nontechnical users of a company. They are struggling to seize the concept of sharing resources between teams, and the "General" team workspace ends up being the workspace for everyone

- Lineage tracking makes it easier to unravel our spaghetti DAG and do things like impact analysis.
- Easy to setup integrations for our data stack giving us a wholistic view of our data platform.
- Secoda's AI features enable our team to self serve very efficiently.
- Customer support has always been very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- I would like to see Secoda's data quality monitoring features enhanced more in the future. They are effective but a little bit simplistic and Id like to be able to drive more actions from them.
- minor UI bugs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We find the Secoda questions feature and data lineage feature to be the most helpful. With Questions, teams are able to knowledge share with eachother and save a record of the discussion. I particularly like that the question-asker can "accept" the answer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am currently finding it difficult to understand the settings on integrations that have already been set up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It has an on premise option and the founders helped out with issues when we were early on with it. They do a good job with security and various deployment options. They do build features quickly and connect 1 on 1 with you when needed.
They have a lot of integrations and can create new ones quickly. It does have a good UI as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We started using Secoda in late 2021 and terminated in late 2024. The product was not actually useful in driving down bottom line cost or clear value. We installed and set it up but just never touched it and when we realized we asked for an accomodation that wasn't granted. One adoption challenge is when you have a large number of assets they are actually quite hard to filter which is the reason you'd want a data catalog in the first place. Make sure you actually need it or if its just another tool in your stack that doesn't drive business value and revenue for you.
If you don't you will be on the hook for your entire contract term with no allowance or accommodation. To be honest and fair we did sign an annual agreement that rolls over yearly (as most enterprises with strict security needs are required to do). However we found no one used it in over 2 years and when we reached out to cancel due to the importance of the funds and terminating it middway into year 3 or 4 the Founder himself replied that this wasn't a possibility. It centralizes business knowledge, context, and scattered documentation in one place, connecting data assets such as dashboards, tables, views, data models, and business concepts. This makes it easy for business users to understand how everything is related and quickly find the information they need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- Customer Support: The team is super responsive and friendly. Just praise for their support.
- Documentation: The documentation is excellent and well-organized, including useful videos. The weekly email digest is also a nice touch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The no-code monitors in Secoda make it easy for our team to set up and automate data quality checks without needing to write scripts.
The integration with our existing data stack, including BigQuery and Snowflake, was seamless, allowing us to manage everything from one platform.
Their customer service is top notch - upon implementation I identified several bugs that they took note of and either fixed immediately or added to their roadmap. Additionally, they asked for my feedback for future features which made me feel like I had more buyin Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The AI descriptions for models and fields could be a bit more robust. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
