"The best IDE at the moment for PHP"
What do you like best about PhpStorm?

The best thing about PHPStorm is the ease with which you can build applications. The company behind it, Jetbrains, is very good with multiple solutions for all types of languages. It has an option to install plugins that gives developers enormous ease to design their own apps. Composer support, embedded terminal, Git, Plugin with Symfony... There is a large community of developers that help solve your questions. The price seems ridiculous to me for what is offered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhpStorm?

When your project is too large and you manage a lot of dependencies with composer, sometimes it becomes unbearable to work, but it is very few times. The same happens when you work with an environment in docker or vagrant, when it has to index a large amount of data... It becomes a bit unbearable to work, it frustrates. "Best IDE for PHP"
What do you like best about PhpStorm?

The best feature of PhStorm is that it is reliable, has an intelligent coding assistant that includes all the CSS HTML and JS benefits of JetBrains Webstorm.

It also supports other technologies for web development like CSS, SASS,HTML,SCSS,CoffeeScript,LESS,Jade templates ECMAScript and many more.

Furthermore, it comes with a smart Javascript editor and lives edit functionality which is quick in changing the views.

And finally, it's interacting graphic diff tool displays the difference in an easy and readable format enabling you to effortlessly move changes from a file to the other file with the click of a button. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhpStorm?

There is nothing to dislike about the PhpStorm. There are very few IDE like it in the market providing support with multiple languages for web development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great software for developers"
What do you like best about PhpStorm?

The best thing about PHPStorm is the ease with which you can build applications, in my case I use it with Symfony and it has a plugin that greatly facilitates the work. It provides developers with enormous ease to navigate between your file dependencies, furthermore, the integration with Git is very well achieved. It has an embedded terminal to avoid getting lost between windows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhpStorm?

Sometimes, when your project is too large in terms of files, it goes a bit slow. It struggles to index the content, perform searches, etc. Another thing I don't like is about the syntax of the code in Spanish, I haven't managed to make it recognize it as correct when writing naturally in Spanish. It lacks the ability to automatically recognize the framework you are using to activate the respective plugins that can be activated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple and effective IDE"
What do you like best about PhpStorm?

Phpstorm does indentation of code very effectively. Also, we can search for the file names easily. We can search & replace some text in the entire project within seconds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhpStorm?

I hope there is no short cut to increase the font size. Rest everything looks good Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"PhpStorm is the best IDE for PHP without a doubt."
What do you like best about PhpStorm?

Currently, the best IDE for programming in PHP is undoubtedly PHPStorm in my sincere opinion, large companies and good programmers use PHPStorm because it makes our lives a bit easier, it has an auto-complete feature that is incredibly good, with Symfony it adapts wonderfully. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhpStorm?

I really don't dislike anything about PHPStorm or any of the IDEs in the Storm family, but as I have indicated above with Symfony, Laravel adapts wonderfully, which CodeIgniter doesn't understand and makes development a bit more difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One of the best IDEs for programming"
What do you like best about PhpStorm?

I used Atom and Notepad++ for PHP development until I found what would later become my best friend, PhpStorm, at the beginning of this year and I am in love. Every time I need to develop something, I use PHPStorm, not just for PHP, even with CSS and JS since it includes support for them. It's incredible how it works... The search for classes and the methods with parameters in the "Popup," everything is amazing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhpStorm?

So far, the only thing that bothers me is that I can't have the control files in a separate folder, but this is something minor and doesn't worry me much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very advanced PHP IDE for your projects"
What do you like best about PhpStorm?

PHPStorm is very well organized. It offers code inspection, which helps you identify problems from the start, such as missing a comma, semicolon, spelling errors, empty statements, and even logical errors. It offers code completion to help you finish faster. It has a very pleasant user interface, which allows you to easily navigate and find what you are looking for. The settings menu is well designed and it is easy to find the settings you are looking for. Setting up an FTP, SFTP, or FTPS server is quick and simple, so it connects to a database. It also offers SQL completion if you have it connected to your SQL database, and it also inspects your SQL queries for errors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhpStorm?

When looking for uses of a function or method, there is no option to filter the found uses by the arguments used in the calls (I often look for uses of a certain optional argument that I need to change or remove from the function declaration), so to find them I have to click on each use, even if there are dozens of them. Additionally, I have noticed that it uses quite a bit of RAM and can slow down other processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best IDE for programming in PHP"
What do you like best about PhpStorm?

This IDE makes it very easy for us to program in PHP. PHPStorm is very easy to use and has auto-complete features that allow us to write code in an efficient and refactored way, including the PSR rules so that everyone can understand it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhpStorm?

If there is something I don't like, it is the high memory usage of the software (since *everything* is indexed by the IDE.) But on a strong development machine with sufficient resources, this is a small problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best IDE for working with PHP"
What do you like best about PhpStorm?

Code Refactoring - helps to make changes in the code, understanding the scope of the code and alerting you when you make changes that may affect other parts.

Syntax Highlighting - helps to see different parts of the code (classes, functions, constants) by coloring them differently in a unique mode.

Dark Mode - works perfectly and makes the view much clearer.

Debugger - debugging within the IDE makes life much easier (remote debugging option) by connecting directly to the MAMP apache.

Version Control Integration - the integration of Jetbrains products with version control systems like git is making life much easier for developers because it makes the code push process much smoother and integrated throughout the development process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhpStorm?

Performance of background tasks - some background tasks like checking for changes in the code cause the program to get stuck, which harms the experience.

File extension change - sometimes it gets stuck or takes too long to do it because the IDE checks the uses of that code snippet.

Code changes take time - sometimes, when there is a code snippet used in many places, making changes to the file name of that code snippet takes a long time, like 30 seconds, which can be frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
