510 NX CAD Reviews
The oft-advanced notion that the advantages of NX are mainly about "free-form stuff" is false. Even if you're primarily doing work involving traditional machined parts (as I do), the toolset in NX allows for faster workflows both in concept and in production design. Equally importantly, the toolset in NX enables quick accommodation and steering of late-breaking concept and scope changes, which is a great factor regarding client satisfaction (and thus repeat business). There's seemingly "basic" functionality that requires costly extra licenses in NX, which can be irritating sometimes. But it's understandable given the stability and quality of the system in general, as well as the frequency with which useful enhancements get added -- obviously, the NX software development is at a very high level and this has to cost something. NX CAD is an excellent design software that has served greatly to our company, apart from serving for modeling and 3D drawin, has the ability to perform stress and vibration analysis that allows to detect weaknesses in designs to correct or improve them, also allows to simulate and analyze the distribution and dynamics of fluids in closed systems.
In addition, NX CAD also allows thermal analysis to analyze the behavior of materials under temperature changes, it is really and ideal tool to design and test any type of design before building or developing it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
NX CAD licenses need to be updated regularly and maintained. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The baseline capabilities of NX together with all the optional modules makes NX one of my preferred solutions when it comes to CAD. The fact that all the menus and ribbons are completely customizable makes it a joy to work as you can create a fit-for-purpose ribbon with the tools you need and use the most. It works great with large assemblies, and have tools and options to make this load quickly and run well without hogging too many resources. The seamless integration to Teamcenter and the possibility to browse the entire Teamcenter database while modelling makes putting together large assemblies with standard parts easy and practical. The learning curve to use NX and learn all its ins-and-outs can be difficult. However, spending the time to do it is definitely worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Since we started implementing the use of NX CAD in our company to model and design our projects, parts or any tool that we need in the company, we have greatly improved the quality of our work, thanks to the precision and detail that this software allows when creating and designing from micro to macro.
In addition, NX CAD has a great testing tool that allows us to expose the designs to external physical factors that could affect the project or material, which facilitates us to modify the defect to achieve a flawless job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
NX CAD has not caused us any negative experience, the program has been excellent for the company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I rely on Siemens NX CAD for developing complex product designs, especially for injection-molded plastic parts. The Molded Part Design application has significantly improved our manufacturability testing reducing both design time and production costs. Additionally, NX CAD’s surface modeling capabilities allow me to create intricate shapes with ease, optimizing my workflow and enhancing the quality of our products. The seamless integration of parametric and direct modeling is another standout feature, making design iterations much faster and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While NX CAD is incredibly powerful, it does have a steep learning curve, especially for new users unfamiliar with its extensive feature set. Also, to import the latest STEP standard files, we had to have tokens limiting exchange of design files through the industry. It was also difficult to understand which applications were available in the base product and which required additional tokens. Additionally, licensing costs are relatively high, which could become a barrier later. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

NX CAD is a very powerful tool for 3D modeling and product design. I liked how precise and detailed the modeling features are, and it supports a wide range of design needs—from basic parts to complex assemblies. It also integrates well with other Siemens tools, which helps streamline workflows across teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface can be a bit overwhelming for beginners, and it takes time to get comfortable with all the features. Some commands aren’t as intuitive as you’d expect, so you really need some training to get the most out of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
NX CAD offers a highly seamless experience for modeling, assembly, etc. for complex mechanical products.
Some of it's upsides include:
1. Parametric modeling & Assembly: Reduces rework hours when there for the revised components.
2. Allows users to customize NX environment according to their needs, hence adhering to organization standards.
3. Powerful tools for advance modeling, surfacing, etc.
4. Good integration with Teamcenter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Documentation to use some of the features are out-of-date.
Less information on how to use some advance features.
Some key features are not available in NX which are present in other CAD softwares. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
NX CAD has been the best 3D design software I have used for our company today, there may be many others but NX CAD has unique features such as dynamic analysis, which allows us to evaluate the behavior of the design in different physical conditions, and also has a great feature of 3D modeling in a geometric way that no other program offers.
In addition to being a very complete software, NX CAD has an extremely fast optimization, which guarantees to be able to work comfortably and fluently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
NX CAD sometimes fails in the accuracy of the designs, especially when it comes to very detailed designs and complex shapes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
NX CAD is a design software with a little know feature called Auto Constraint Optimization, which automatically optimizes the quality of parts and assemblies through numerical optimization techniques, thanks to features, the quality of our products is improved.
In addition, the use of NX CAD has also made us more competitive by allowing us to produce higher quality and better designed products in less time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
NX CAD has a steep learning curve, learning to use this program takes time and additional resources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
NX CAD has proven to be a powerful and versatile tool for our design projects, the functions we use the most include 3D modeling, assembly, electronic design and mechanical design, we also use its excellent engineering analysis function to test the effectiveness of our designs before carrying them out.
Another tool that is fundamental for our company is NX CAD 3D Printing, it is easy to use and has a variety of options to customize the prints, including the selection of materials and colors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
