What do you like best about Magento Open Source?

What do you like best about Magento Open Source?
By using both Magento, Opencart, WooCom for many years, Magento is the most stable and secure website, hardly see any hacks compare to Wordpress Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Magento Open Source?
Was using Magento in 2006 1.xx days and it really, really great. Very robust and dependable... couldn't ask for more, But when eBay bought it and went to the 2.xx foundation it was a complete disaster, nothing was compatible and for me to make the move to 2.xx would have been insanely costly. I ended up switching to WooCommerce and I've been happy, but miss the versatility of Magento. I've used 2.xx in other appications with Adobe at the helm, and it's good, but won't make the leap until i'm forced to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Magento Open Source?
It can be costly if you need outside plugins, Seems like Magento developers think they're mightier than god and charge like it. If you don't need anything outside of a base install, you'll be ok. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Magento Open Source?
The Magento platform delivers ultimate flexibility allowing customization in any area as long as you have the correct engineering resource at hand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is a very steep learning curve with Magento, and software engineers experienced with Magento are an expensive resource. Unless managed well, costs can spiral, and the result will be dismal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
