What do you like best about Procore?

It allows you to control multiple projects from the same company. View their status and progress in an easy and interactive way. You can interact with your contractor by assigning them specific tasks related to each project. You control the level of access or permissions that users have, and with that, you only allow them to interact with the assigned projects and very specific tasks. The implementation is not extremely complicated, but it does require training and follow-up. By having connectivity with other applications, you can focus on a platform to view MS Project, finances. What do you dislike about Procore?

Procore allows for the management of all projects. Having projects in different parts of the Mexican republic with different PMs makes it complicated to do it with just MS Project. As most companies, we have historically used servers on folders as "data management" and not true any true DMS. Over the last year, several of our teams have transitioned to ACC for DMS and have seen considerable improvement to workflows, speed of use, and general positivity! We are using it multiple times per day, and are constantly looking for additional features to integrate into our workflows. While our teams were not initially excited about the change, it was a relatively easy shift since Desktop Connector allows teams to keep a similar view to what they're accustomed to. What do you like best about JobTread?

Continued development. The JT team are adding new features and quality of life improvements almost every week.

The Budget / Estimate feature and the development team's engagement with users. I use the budget tool daily to calculate and document the scope of work and budget for our customer's projects. I can select the line items to include in a proposal, showing/hiding the information I want the customer to see. The most helpful part is the nested groups and tasks. Within the budget, I can have lots of detailed line items organized in multiple layers of groups. Then show the customer only the top 1-2 level of groups. The Selections feature is also good, I can give the customer options they can choose from on the proposal. They can choose to add or remove optional bits of scope from the project. They extended formulas to the budget calculation to make that feature even more powerful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JobTread?

They have yet to integrate email, sms or call logs in the app. I have created a Zap, triggered by new SMS that adds it as a comment in that customer record. They are continuing to work on these types of integrations so I'm confident it will be available soon. In the meantime, Eric and their development team are very helpful working with users to add functionality.

Update: They have created a messaging center within the app that works with email to pull all the written vendor & client communication within the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is JobTread solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use the CRM to track projects by phase (17 stages) from new lead to finished/paid. Our estimating, bidding and customer approval are all handled through JT. We are starting to use JobTread for selections and allowances, then last week Jan 2025) they added functions for doing onscreen takeoff. I love how integrated this system is. Payroll goes direct to the jobs and union payroll reports and government tax forms. ComputerEase is super easy to use and teach our staff. Projul gives great trainings & customer support. It has helped creating proposals/estimates, contracts & Invoices a breeze. Also, having JustiFi as our payment processing, we have seen in just a few weeks save my company thousands of dollars. I also love the GPS tracking for guys in the field. It has made billing hours to jobs so easy & checking clocking in and out times. I also currently am tracking drivetime so that can assist with additional savings in fuel cost & who should be allowed to drive company vehicles & who shouldn't. What do you dislike about Projul?

You can't view a client's complete file. As in multiple projects from before conviently and I hate how it only opens on the side. I also don't like how you can't have multiple propsals/contracts on one project especially when it has multiple phases I have to create multiple projects which confuses the guys out in the field for clocking in. We also have several issues with the app it constantly times out or takes forever to load. Which is not very convient for guys in the field. Also I don't like how you can't archive proposals/estimates so you can keep them for a later time. I love all the features that Contractor+ offers. It's extremely easy to set up and get to know the layout of how everything runs and works. Especially when you sign up for a demo. I have reached out multiple times and they always respond quickly, great customer service. I use this every day for managing field workers, bills, invoices, estimates, etc. Great service overall, and I haven't used other software systems FULLY with our team. We are just looking for a system, but I believe this is the end to our constant search for a great system. Awesome awesome awesome. It'll definitely be easy to implement with our team. What do you like best about Acumatica?

I have used many small accounting and larger ERP systems. None work like Acumatica. When I said this system was written to run in the cloud - I really mean it. You can tell the company worked hard with industry experts to plan, design, and then program a software solution. This is not legacy software attempting to run in the cloud.

You can import and export from any system screen. Most common user screens have the ability with one click like sales order but for power users you can easily hit any screen/table you want.

I required very fancy customer discounts. This was the only system that could handle it.

I have over 100k SKUs and 50k bins. The system didn't complain. No user screens started to choke either. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acumatica?

I originally purchased a perpetual license many years ago. Unfortunately, those are no longer offered. My annual maintenance price has not changed each year which was a pleasant surprise. This year I was forced to upgrade to the latest version or I would get penalized 25% each month. It was in the middle of our busy season and nobody wanted to go through a major upgrade that could cause issues. I can understand support not wanting to help if we are on an old version but to force us to upgrade or fine us harshly is just down right abuse from a vendor. If that practice doesn't stop then I can see people leaving.

Don't try hosting this software on a virtual server. It will not perform well. Make sure you get a dedicated server. Also don't use the MySQL database. The only one that works is the MSSQL. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Handoff?

What is most helpful with Handoff is the ability to provide a constrction, remodel, home repair bid or quotes for jobs in minutes instead of days! And that I am able to provide this from the downloaded app on my phone or from my laptop. The convience of having both is amazing. I personally use the app on my phone more since I'm able to enter the information needed while still on the job site. Another feature that makes Handoff great is that if I need to make changes to material or labor, all I have to do is type out the changes in the "Use Handoff AI" bar and the AI makes the necessary changes for me and updating the materials cost and manhours needed. While I am just using the Handoff Cost Estimator, I am seriously considering upgrading to the Handoff Business Subscription so that I can have access to change orders, invoices, and other premium features. What do you dislike about Handoff?

I have not found anything that I dislike about Handoff. After the 7 day free trial period, I thought that the price for using Handoff was outrageous and not affordable. That quickly changed on the very next bid that I attempted to start without it. A problem that I was having while putting together construction project bids is that I was always forgetting some type of material, or I was underestimating the manhours needed to complete the projects, ultimately costing me money. I find Higharc to be most helpful due to its interactiveness, organization, and ease of use. The organization of Higharc makes it easier to learn as well as locate different settings/options. The usability of the entire interface also contributes to how interactive and organized the entire system is. Once I understood how the CDM and studio files worked it made things more simplified and quicker to design. I haven't gotten into much detail with Higharc, however, when I would work on training from home, my browser lagged quite a bit which made it had to focus. What is most helpful to me is that there aren't a lot of extra menus to click through to send out nice-looking proposals to homeowners. The interface is very user-friendly, and the Knowify support team is always an email or call away to help answer any questions you might have. It offers many features to stay organized with invoicing, bills, scheduling, and many other things contractors need to be on top of to remain profitable. This will change how your contracting business is run, and you will find yourself using the software daily. What do you like best about CoConstruct?

CoConstruct is a very useful tool. The software is very thoughtfully designed. The Budgets, Purchase Orders and Change Orders are all relatively smooth and easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoConstruct?

Unfortunately, once you start using CoConstruct, you are essentially locked in, as it is hard to export data. Our small business used CoConstruct with no complaints until last year, when they jacked up our rates exponentially (by about $5,000). We were blindsided by the outrageous increase in price. Because of how software-centric CoConstruct is, it is not easy to take your data and go to another company. You are pretty much stuck with them if you aren't willing to walk away from your project data. I would avoid CoConstruct entirely unless you are in a position to walk away from your project data. What do you like best about Togal.AI?

I've been using this AI-based program, Togal.AI, for about a year now, and it has completely transformed the way I do takeoffs in the painting field. Before this, I was doing everything the old-school way—paper plans, calculator, roller wheel, highlighters, and rulers. It was time-consuming and inefficient. On a good day, I could finish 2 to 4 smaller jobs. Larger or multi-family projects could take up to a week or more.

Since switching to Togal.AI, my workflow has drastically improved. I can now complete small projects in just 30 minutes to an hour, and larger ones in 2 to 3 hours, including time spent reviewing the specifications. The program is incredibly user-friendly, and the ease of integration into our existing systems and workflow was seamless. It took very little time to get up and running, and training the team was quick and straightforward.

The customer support is top-notch—responsive and helpful whenever any issues arise. I use Togal.AI every single day. The time saved, efficiency gained, and hassle-free implementation have been a huge win for our business.

The only downside at this point is that it doesn’t yet support AI takeoffs for exterior work. That feature would be a major bonus for painting contractors like us who work on both interior and exterior scopes. Hopefully, that functionality is in the pipeline. Reading through hundreds of pages in a spec manual used to be one of the most frustrating parts of the job. Togal.AI solves that by allowing me to simply ask the program to find the spec I'm looking for.
