Prior to the software mobile computers were encrypted at the operating system or folder level. Some of the data was still accessible. This allows for full disk encryption with login at boot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Trellix Endpoint Security?

I enjoy their McAfee console which has a variety of different dashboard, making it very easy to understand the data and have a good sense of how your network is. It is a very informative and intuitive product that provides a wide range of capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Trellix Endpoint Security?

a) Admin friendly and is accessible without much knowledge on product.

b) User level of personalisation based on the requirement is possible.

c) End to end screening of applications helps you work without direct or indirect attacks.

What do you dislike about Trellix Endpoint Security?

a) If possible OS refresh mechanism should be automated, At present which is achieved by following certain steps provided by Mcafee knowledge base.

b) Mcafee admin capabilities use "McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator", which cannot be run along side of the other vendor products.

c) Data encryption is good but it already exist in different options for users. Should have supported generating a user specific encryption key for securing their data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Mcafee Saas which provided a remote access and allows admin to monitor from any place.

Good security for data encryption from intruders.

What do you like best about Trellix Endpoint Security?

One of the best features I like about the McAfee Endpoint Protection product is how I am able to define firewall rules for specific programs. The ability to white list what certain applications are able to do gives me peace of mind that nothing suspicious is going on behind the scenes. This requirment becomes more and more important as hackers continue to become more advanced in their attack scenerios. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Trellix Endpoint Security?

Similarly, it seems to be one of the most frustrating features as well. Often times when I whitelist an application for specific ports and services, I will have to reconfirm network access every time it opens. There does not seem to be any support for whitelisting by product family or signature. So every time program updates, I have to re-whitelist.

Also the overall GUI interface seems to be lacking. I think some aesthetic changes might be in order to make it look nice. But that is just a personal preference. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Trellix Endpoint Security:

Using this product for baseline security for mac is a very good idea. I think when you get granular with custom settings this product lacks. So long as meeting basic security requirements are your goal. This product will fit in just fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Trellix Endpoint Security solving and how is that benefiting you?

The business problem trying to solve is how to secure and administer mac computers in an enterprise environment. THe benefits of this product are very easily seen since we already use ePO for all the other machines in the organization.

People think that mac computers are secure on their own and there is no need to have any type of anti virus software installed or malware detection capabilities. But that is just incorrect and mac operating systems are becoming more and more of a target at the product continues to grow in market share and gaining more attention. Easy of access for the end user, system can be handled from single user console.

Remote accessing and security for end points like laptops in which data is encrypted, which serves as data privacy and security.

We can configure user specific dashboards, timely support from Mcafee team in configuring rules.

What do you dislike about Trellix Endpoint Security?

Takes more CPU utilization and lot of memory.

When the system is under scan it will hang screen and other processes and very difficult to work with.

Legacy systems or low configuration systems cannot support mcafee process fully,

Mcafee supports all type of endpoints security which also includes macs.

We will get support from Mcafee team for advanced configurations.

Right now I am using Mcafee total security from last 1 year, no issues till date.

It is good software for threat detection. And get a good software for value of money. What do you like best about Trellix Endpoint Security?

I find that its easy to manage and control. many features are always a plus when trying to protect and secure systems.

At first its easy to understand and install. Managing was even easier. Of course some of its was a little beyond my comprehension. I used many default setups and standards. My workers liked the firewall rules. its very specific and can be easily configured without any headaches.

Its scanning features go fast and in-depth.

Very reliable and strong. I like that it doesn't over reach its resources and keeps the server at optimization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Trellix Endpoint Security?

Some programs that i have run into don't like to play with McAfee. In-fact, its more of just the initial install.

After we have excluded some of the programs on the network, everything was ok. It actually ruined all our software but luckily we had backups at the time. Not sure why it didn't like .exe files and .zips.

I would like to see or hope to see more intrusion detection on any upcoming releases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Make sure that your data is protected and test your software. McAfee is very good at protection and security. It blocks many unwanted websites, viruses and spyware. I find McAfee to be a old software but its strong and stable. Its grown and its software and features are always improving. For additional support, their team is always available and reliable. For the time being, we are always trying to encrypt our data and keep a strong firewall to protect our data.

What do you like best about Trellix Endpoint Security?

The feature I like best would have to be the Full encryption to prevent data theft from stolen laptops or mobile devices. Mac and Linux operating systems are also supported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Trellix Endpoint Security?

When it comes to detection rate McAfee would still be somewhere at the top of the list. While there maybe other programs with better detection rates, McAfee should be sufficient to keep those viruses away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Trellix Endpoint Security?

The one reason that blurs any of the good points this program contains. Consumes a LOT of memory, whether it’s during scan or real time protection. There are around seven processes running for the program. If your computer has specifications that are compatible for Vista it should be sufficient. Anything under that, I doubt the program would even startup. Tested with 512MB RAM it still slowed down the computer quite a bit.

t would not be recommended for computers with under memory of at least 512MB RAM. Nevertheless it is still a good Anti-virus solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Like most other programs McAfee has been well tested and barely contains any bugs at all.With the high memory consumption it takes up as mentioned before, it’s pretty obvious that scanning duration would be quite long too so if you choose McAfee you’ll rarely perform a full scan because of the time it takes, which makes your computer vulnerable.
