"Finally, internal Q&A that people use"
What do you like best about Stack Overflow for Teams?

I like the familiar interface. As an active contributor to the public-facing Stack Overflow and multiple Stack Exchange communities, I felt right at home using Stack Overflow for Teams. I also like the Microsoft Teams add-in, especially the Ask in Teams" feature which allows us to provide a friendly suggestion to move a MS Teams post into Stack Teams as a question. This is a good tool for teams who handle a lot of support requests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow for Teams?

I miss some public-facing features, like embeddable code snippets with live previews; and I am annoyed by some feature disparity, such as the way that the public-facing site shows the markdown preview below the text editor, whereas Stack Overflow for Teams makes me toggle between the markdown editor and a WYSIWYG to see a preview. "Improved knowledge-sharing in our organization"
What do you like best about Stack Overflow for Teams?

Any developer is familiar with Stack Overflow, but many questions can't be shared publicly due to proprietary methods, unique IT infrastructure, etc. A private instance of Stack Overflow changes that.

Previously, this knowledge was very siloed, and the same question got asked many times, with answers lost in Teams chats and emails. Now, it's easy to create an authoritative and well-formatted resource that isn't lost when an employee leaves the organization. SO4T has become a critical part of knowledge management that my team references daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow for Teams?

I don't have any major complaints. It would be great to have more features in the free tier (as the biggest complaint I've had has more to do with internal stuff), but the fact there is a free tier robust enough to support my team is a huge value add. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"SO is a great natural way to externalize general company knowledge into a system."
What do you like best about Stack Overflow for Teams?

Using questions and answers to encapsulate knowledge is a great concept and SO does this really well. Besides, all developers already knows how to use the system. Content health tools help with making sure that knowledge stay current. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow for Teams?

It is apparent that the system is built for large user bases and sometimes this makes things a bit awkward. For example "Communities" sounds like a great thing but are really just a tag collection. I also miss AI features. I know these are coming but as of now I don't have access to them. I wonder about the future of SO with regards to AI. You will be able to ask questions based on free form content using AI. Having said that, questions and answers is still a great way to capture certain knowledge into a system. "The first documentation tool to put in place"
What do you like best about Stack Overflow for Teams?

I like that it is very easy and effortless to add documentation even when you are in a rush.

I like the search engine which makes it easy to find what you are looking for, even if you did not put a lot of effort in the classification.

It is really easy to start using it as a team. Low barrier of entry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow for Teams?

In a team context, colleagues often only want to add to the current answer, so it's a little bit akward to add a complete new answer, but modifying the answer of someone else seems also suboptimal.

Also, this tool does not solve the problem of outdated documentation.

In a small team, asking a question might get no response. We mostly create a question when we already have the answer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A system allowing us to be aware of the knowledge-base at our work."
What do you like best about Stack Overflow for Teams?

You can reference to your work peers quickly a similar set-back or solved question you're encountered. The integrations that offers are as well astrong point when it comes to implement stackoverflow with other internal go-to services.

As a frontend developer one of the things that I like as well is that the user interface is pretty user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow for Teams?

Sometimes if many people is using the service because of the volume of questions some of them can be hard to find on the feed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

stackoverflow teams is a great way for us as a team to log practical coding questions, answers, solutions and tips. specifically being able to search very efficiently, vote, refine answers on the go and add additional info as the stack changes and adapts... all of these make teams a very useful tool in our org. What do you dislike about Stack Overflow for Teams?

I had a space that was closed due to lack of activity... that was very weird for me and I didnt revived it afterwards because of the risk. Iwill not be able to maintain it enough and it will be closed again :( Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Stack Overflow for Teams"
What do you like best about Stack Overflow for Teams?

I love using Stack Overflow for Teams, it is like an in-house wiki/forum, where we can share and support colleagues by providing solutions to various problems, sharing useful tips and offering guidance on how certain bits of code function. It has helped me with day to day tasks and problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow for Teams?

The colour scheme could be a bit better, I am unsure if this can be configured differently on a user by user basis, but if it was a lighter more vibrant that would be cool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Great Tool For Companies With Large Dev Teams"
What do you like best about Stack Overflow for Teams?

The best part about SOFT is that you can troubleshoot things that you wouldn't normally be able to on the public Stack Overflow. The ability to make posts about company specific or things that are confidential to the company is a game-changer.

I also love being able to see what things other people need help with, because then it's easier to detectif there is some larger concern thats causing all the issues, such as framework changes that need to be made. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Stack Overflow for Teams?

The one downside of SOFT is that it is only good if your teams are actually using it. This is a problem because if it is not good already, teams may not want to start the actual use, and may revert to previous forms of documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
