My development team uses Toad for Oracle because it speeds the process of pulling data for analysis, troubleshooting and solution development for our Oracle Peoplesoft applications running on Oracle Database 19c. The built-in tools just make the process faster and easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It was difficult to figure out the licenses in a VDI environment where desktops are not persistent. We had to build a login scripting process to license the tool for each user who accesses the virtual desktop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Toad is the best software for managing Oracle in many ways:
It never hanged while connecting to the Oracle DB.
I am using Toad for the last three years as a Database Developer.
It provides easy access for all DB objects through the schema browser.
It provides the very handy feature of pattern searching in a Schema browser tab. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly speaking there is not a single thing that I dislike about toad for Oracle. Toad always fulfils my needs. It works smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is straightforward to use and has all the features required for database developers.
You can view the procedures, perform database unit tests, debug the procedures and functions, view the packages, navigate to different database objects. The user-wise schema is easy to see, and filters are user-specific and can be stored. The best feature is it does not load all the data in one go, and hence for cursory checking of data, it's the best, and if required, it can load all data with a single click on the UI button available.
The other great feature is tracing the query flow, and the tree structure output helps infer the performance improvement areas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software is not available for Mac Os or Linux platforms and is more suited for windows machines.
The key shortcuts are different and need a more extensive learning curve.
The sorting and filtering come as a popup and are not triggered directly from the UI.
It is difficult to see the blob data types like image files, and the constraints, SQL view, are less intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are a lot of amazing features in Toad for Oracle:
We can search database objects from the schema browser window. Moreover, we can also search by towering the mouse on a specific word and then press F4. It will give us full details about the Object whether it is SP, View, Table or other object and also show the related schema of that object. If we talk about performance then it is very far better than SQL Developer. We can connect multiple connections containing multiple editors. It also contains a very attractive user interface. If I talk about the cons of Toad then there is only one bad thing about toad is that sometimes it get slow. And also get stuck in the "No response" state. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I worked with Toad in a telecommunications multinational, and the best thing was managing a multitude of databases and tables, making selections, and modifying clients and services with great agility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think there was nothing that I disliked; you just had to give permissions to databases you would use. What was a bit annoying was the sound of the frog when starting the program, since it seemed like a burp, and whoever did not know it could seem unpleasant Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Through Toad, was able to write queries and execute them and was able to fetch explain plan and cost of the queries for performance monitoring and improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes, if we have multiple sessions it bothers me a lot in response. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
