Oracle weblogic as per me is the best application server to host our applications. Easy deployments, clustering capabilities make this a best software. Oracle did a good job after acquiring this weblogic server from BEA. I used to use this application server right from the BEA days and now I see this has become stable and when we moved from Sun to Linux operating system, we even observed better performance using this oracle weblogic server. Some of the major draw backs of this Oracle weblogic is that we don't have a graphical tool to develop our scripts. We use wlst scripting tool which is provided by oracle itself, but looking forward to get some kind of graphical tool that can build all the scripts required. It is almost complete solution for the web logic. It has some of the good features like customizing fields which can give us flexibility for the make the it more powerful. Also it has support of the java and. Net which I like most so that we can have kind of flexibility for choosing platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The migration support is not that good and the tools that they provide is not as expected and make life more complex. Other than that I think everything is good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of use - WebLogic is very straightforward and organizes the most important server configurations in organized screens. Major IDEs export in WAR or EAR format which is staged in WebLogic and deployed to your cluster or node.
Heavy load - Can handle 30-40 applications running on a four-server cluster at one time. The UI remains responsive and isolated on an AdminServer separate from the running applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Heavy memory usage - Out of the box, WebLogic is configured for mainly 5-10 mid-grade applications. You need to alter memory parameters and sometimes boost physical hardware to increase heap stack to support heavier application loads, when pushing 35+ applications on one instance. As an Oracle Weblogic server administrator for a year I have to say that it's security is very good and you can rely on especially if you are using it with Linux operating system. I also like it's management because it is very easy to learn. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The most thing I dislike in Oracle Weblogic server is it's installation process because it is very complex and not easy to learn. You have to be professional to install it and make it stable so you can work with no problems. You have to choose the right version depending on your work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
