I am an Oracle ACE and working with Java Application Servers more than 12 years. What makes Oracle WebLogic is gives the whole infrastructure layer for building world class JavaEE applications. Oracle WebLogic is also the first multitenant Java application server to support PaaS for SaaS. We use this feature to decrease the operation costs event in production systems. Oracle always publishes the roadmap for WebLogic and it will make us more comfortable for the feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Actually nothing. But honestly I can say the startup times of FMW products could be more faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We extensively use weblogic's JMS feature to process billions of critical messages every quarter. We rely on our apps communication through the JMS with an uptime of 99.99 for years. It gives our developers and Project owners peace of mind for those messages to be delivered . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The complexity of this to make it happen on cloud. As much as we love the weblogic JMS feature we want to move to cloud and lack of weblogic SAAS model is a disappointment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to navigate the admin console. I can find information easily on the web.The logs are easy to manage but hope the configurations of these logs can easily be updated, especially their locations. Otherwise the binary folder can be very large. The http(s) server is self managed so I don't have to trouble shoot the 404 common problems as I did before for Jboss. Its soapgateway doesn't have the many problems as for jboss. Hope there are some graph gui as in Jboss. Thanks Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hope there are more knowledge base/ training for weblogic from Oracle. More handson trainings! It will be nice the admin console has the similar graph gui as for Jboss. Its logs can be too large. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have used weblogic and websphere application server and I do not see any pros or cons on either of them. They serve the purpose and you have good community support in case you need support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Containers have stale application in some scenarios and could not be deleted without bringing down the server. Force Delete option should be supported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
from versions 8.1 when it was owed by BEA to todays 12c versions, the UI has been relatively the same making it easy to use. New features coming out with newer versions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
wish there was an autopatch process. oracle support is the biggest roadblock and problem with these products, lack of knowledge and good support..progressively been getting worse over the years Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It servers all my application hosting capabilities. I have not looked back on other app servers. I have been using it since it was Aqualogic Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is a very robust web server, the administrator is easy to use and the deployments are easy to run and manage Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The installation is usually a bit tedious, requires many dependencies and a high level of hardware Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The admin console is extremely robust and you can monitor things that you can't in a less robust app server like tomcat, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
