As my title states I think the ML embedded enrichment and preparation features in OAC are fantastic and very user friendly. I feel this will really increase user adoption of OAC in the coming months and years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downfall to OAC in my opinion is Oracle Support. I feel it takes quite some time to get answers and then sometimes when answers are provided they're not 100% relevant to the problem at hand Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In our organization, this is the main product we use to develop our global sales reports.
One of the most noteworthy features of OACS is that you can interact with Excel. In this way, you can give distinct remodeling within the data flow both in OACS before the export and in the already exported OACS excel report. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In sales, sometimes we review past lost/won opportunities, so we do that based on the OACS generated reports. The software would only provide historical data for several years maximum of 5; in some cases, we need to bring even older data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The upsides of using Oracle Analytics Cloud are a desktop and browser version of authoring and publishing reports. Oracle Analytics Cloud also brings together robust and scalable cloud computing to run and connect either live or cache your datasets and optimize queries to run and return results. The built-in machine learning and AI functions within Oracle Cloud are up-and-coming, and they provide regular updates to those features to augment your analytics. The out-of-the-box visuals do leave more for the user to be desired. Query performance can sometimes get bogged down when connecting live, so I recommend optimizing the backend data queries/tables to ensure more performant querying to meet SLAs. The authoring of various reports allows for drag and drop or free form, though sometimes more customized dashboards can get tedious. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
All the technology is at one place and very easy to use and deploy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It will be better if more docs and video are available how to use this cloud. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It allows you to get to your data in a way that does not require programming to do so. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Depending on you application of OBI, you may not have any other visibility to you data. You may not be able to find out how some data related to another and you can create a report that you think has all the details you need, but it comes up blank because the data really is not connected. Since implementing Oracle Analytics our team has been very impressed with the rapid level of development and excellent service from their Analytics Customer Success and Product Development groups! They have made implementation and user adoption very easy.
The User Interface for self service BI is really well done. Much cleaner that the other products we have worked with. The machine learning (explain and natural language features) are really impressive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Mobile views could use some enhancements, however I understand these are coming out very shortly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Upside is easy to create data sets via s/s, direct database connections, data flows, enhance data, model data, visualize data, create dashboards all within 1 tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Oracle Support - takes a lot of back and forth to get any real help. It's a very reactive model and constantly have to follow up with them. To submit an SR have to fill out long questionnaires answering questions that Oracle should already have on record.
From a product perspective, can't grant other admin users access to my data flows. The Home Screen is hard for end users to sign into and understand. Still have to use the RPD to create a governed data model but it is rather archaic. I believe Oracle is working on another option though so that's good news. Missing ability to import data set and immediately view and fix anomalies and outliers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
OAC is extremely easy to use to build ad-hoc analyses. The DV interface is intuitive which allow our 300+ end-user community to identify and take action on key business metrics with very little effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
OAC has the new modern interface for data visualization and a classic interface for legacy OBIEE dashboards and analysis. I would love to only use the DV interface for building executive reporting, but currently there are still some feature gaps which doesn't allow for this transition. Thankfully, I know that Oracle is working on this and we see feature parity gap closing with each new release. I'm excited to see what is released this calendar year.
