"Cloudability - Our route to financial understanding in Cloud"
What do you like best about IBM Cloudability?

The ability to be able to pull in data from multiple Cloud vendors and review the entire spend in one location simply cannot be underestimated. Using Cloud Financial Planning daily gives us the ability to work more closely with the business to directly recognise, validate and manage our cloud spend. The ability to split this down in a business focussed way that meets our requirement and financial requirement, makes this a go to product. As a cloud based product it was easy to integrate within our existing environment. Having resource alligned to us to help when things have been challenging has also been hugely beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Cloudability?

The move for reporting to BI has not been the most straight forward and as the product is constantly being updated and upgraded sometimes you can feel a little overwelmed by new functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cloudability for enhanced visibility and data flow"
What do you like best about IBM Cloudability?

After implementing Cloudability our cloud billing has become much faster to publish, we have relied on the flexibility provided to assist us with other task such as tag controls, annual license true up, using API to export data to some of our in-house tools and many more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Cloudability?

After the initial IBM M&A the product updates have been a little bit chaotic (we are waiting on some features previously announced, but not yet delivered e.g. user grouping for access controls), but I am definitely seeing that this is ramping up and I am positive that great further updates will come. What do you like best about IBM Cloudability?

Clear dashboards easy to maintain and to share with the users

Accurate advice for resources optimization

Very good customer support (clear help center documentation, fast & good technical support at case creation)

Ease of building reports

Custom views easy to create for service owners

Good flexibility to play around with different criteria for determining costs based on tags, resources .. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Cloudability?

Reporting needs some improvements, especially in the lack of filter criterias

Optimization recommendations only based on one month past usage. Should be good to extend it to 2 or 3 months Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great tool for consolidating, understanding and analysing public cloud costs"
What do you like best about IBM Cloudability?

Cloudability is useful for our organisation, specifically for:

• Customisable/Personalised dashboards to monitor and analyze cloud usage and costs

• Chargeback reporting including custom dimensions and metrics related to spend and usage

• Rightsizing recommendations for cost optimisation

• Resource inventory data to identify underutilised resources

• Business mappings and custom views for cost allocation and transparency for individual business units/regions

• Tagging reporting

• Ad-hoc dashboard builds Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Cloudability?

There are limitations in a few areas, and specifically we would like to see improvements in:

- Enhanced and automated rightsizing recommendations

- Reports around savings made from actioning recommendations

- Enhanced forecasting models

- Custom calculations available in Apptio BI, currently these are limited Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Janie Carothers of IBM Cloudability

We're glad to hear that you find IBM Cloudability useful for consolidating, understanding, and analyzing your public cloud costs. We appreciate your feedback on the areas for improvement and will take them into consideration for future enhancements. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review!

"Take control of your cloud spend"
What do you like best about IBM Cloudability?

Great insight into Cloud spend and cloud utilisation data. Cloudability has given us a platform to properly understand our cloud spend, how our cloud spend is trending and actions we can perform to optimize our cloud spend. It has empowered us to make metric based decisions and greater proactivity in addressing cloud usage before the big bill lands at the end of the month. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Cloudability?

This isn't a cheap tool, and for many organisations they will potentially just see this as "more cloud cost" and therefore not realise the benefits such a product and solutions can provide them.

There are some minor improvements we'd like to see, particularly around rightsizing recommendations and preferences. For example you can avoid certain instance types for EC2 in AWS but you can't do the same for EBS and avoid SC1 storage. This leads to a lot of rightsizing alerts which either have to be snoozed or filtered.

There could also be improvements as to how cluster costs are, particularly around deeper insights of usage of resources and networking, hopefully future integrations with newly acquired Kubecost will improve this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Really good but can be improved"
What do you like best about IBM Cloudability?

Container insights and cost transparency , ability to create business dimensions, ability to create views using business dimensions, cost sharing feature Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Cloudability?

Huge cost difference between reporting and container insights , views created with BM or tags are not supported for most of the cloud ability features like container insights , cost sharing feature doesn’t have container dimensions under allocated data source , apptio bi performance is really poor at times . Also we often get issues on loading commitment recommendations Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Janie Carothers of IBM Cloudability

Hi Akhila,

Thank you for sharing that feedback! We love hearing that IBM Cloudability is a useful tool for you. We are constantly working to improve our products so thank you for sharing your experience. We will share that information with our product team.

"Unmatched User Experience for Cloud Data Clarity"
What do you like best about IBM Cloudability?

It's a really intuitive software, it's easy to teach people how it works. It also cleans up the noise with the GL by providing only the data you're asking to see. It's a clean UI and is organized very well. The rightsizing recommendations have provided a lot of benefits to our team and the newly added snoozing functionality is a great help when looking at potential savings! We have some other tools where we just retrieve the data they provide via APIs since their UI is too convoluted, but we never run into that issue with Cloudability. Lastly, their APIs are a huge help to our team when we've needed to pull the data into our custom internal reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Cloudability?

When creating a dashboard, you can't bring multiple datasets into the same dashboard. Cloudability works in segmented tabs, so rightsizing lives on one page, cloud spend lives on another, same with budgeting / forecasting. It would be beneficial if they could bring it all together in one system, so end users could see a mix of datasets in one dashboard. Apptio BI has been a great solution to this problem from the initial tests we've had. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Janie Carothers of IBM Cloudability

"Enhanced Multi Cloud Cost Management Platform"
What do you like best about IBM Cloudability?

The Multi Cloud Visibility in one single platform

Enhanced recommendations including multiple risk options

The consistent new features and capabilities being released Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Cloudability?

Heavily focused on AWS and not all features as helpful for other major CSPs such as Azure - pass through recommendations only as an example.

CSA also only for AWS EC2. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"extremely informative and optimistic."
What do you like best about IBM Cloudability?

The visibility we gain from our cloud cost consumption and the added ability to inform various personas within our organisation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Cloudability?

The lack of training available sometimes feels as though we are not maximizing our potential and it also restricts our opportunity to support our stakeholders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cloudability use for cloud cost visibility"
What do you like best about IBM Cloudability?

Cloudability has been great for us to get cost visibility for our multi cloud environment. This, coupled with the tagging functionality has helped us accelerate our FinOps journey and being accountability of spending. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Cloudability?

It is a bit slow and clunky at times. Trying to dive deeper into analysis can be difficult compared to the cloud service provider native cost management tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Janie Carothers of IBM Cloudability

Thank you for sharing your experience! We love hearing that IBM Cloudability is a useful tool for you. We appreciate that feedback and will share with our product team.
