What do you like best about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

-Our contacts at HackerRank are timely and supportive. I feel heard and prioritized often and my emails are addressed quickly.

-Easy for RecOps teams to adopt - requires no technical knowledge to coordinate technical assignments and interviews.

-Integrates with our scheduling tool and ATS, easy to create virtual interview links or assignments and share with all parties. So easy to scale - it operates nearly invisibly on my end for much of our process (especially in our interview scheduling tool). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

-I hear as much good as bad regarding HackerRank's technical capabilities but it is hard to navigate those conversations from a RecOps perspective. But HackerRank is very willing to meet with and support our technical teams, so I know they care and would prioritize us and our adoption. The tool was a such a game changer for RecOps - we had tried another tool for our virtual technical interviews after we began remote interviewing, and it was more manual to adopt. HackerRank operates almost invisibly in a lot of our processes saving us a lot of time. All in all, I want to be transparent in my review and say that I have heard from folks who have technical complaints with HackerRank, but many have compliments too. Large library of questions that apply technologies important to us and our customers.

Great variance of question types (programming, multiple choice, whiteboarding, more).

Real actual projects that can also run on my computer (as in, outside of HackerRank) when dealing with technologies like react, angular, spring boot, and more.

There is nothing on my dislike list. There are items on my wish list, i.e. opportunity to have test setting that allows test reports sent to test taker.

Assessing candidates who enter Access Point.

Helping Access Point students, and up to senior engineers, have an awesome practice ground for working on realistic and difficult problems, and solving them, with a test-driven high feedback approach that includes time/space complexity.

Our company does not want to try getting other types of coding challenges in the market because HackerRank itself seems to be the best that we have, couldn't compare more. the random test generator is very useful.

It creates sections with varying questions and each section has its' own time limitation and ability to pick random quetions.

What do you like best about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

When I first implemented HackerRank with another company years ago, it was primarily take-home tests and typically only used for more entry-level candidates. Since then it's evolved exponentially, always listening to our needs along the way. The tool is brand conscious- with some customizable components that make it fit better for your company. The UI itself is sleek and more developed than many competitors in the same business. But the best part has been the partnership and the company's ability to listen to their customers that has created a variety of test types and the ability to truly customize the experience for our candidates. HackerRank has come to our aide to help build, expand, test, and build again. The ability to level the playing field for more skill-based hiring has been a special favorite. There are a few limitations around imports (flasks/git) that seem to be more of an annoyance than a must-have for some of our interviewers. We are hopeful that there will be some enhancements around testing for iOS/ Android development soon as well-- as this is the one area in that we are still using a different platform. What problems is HackerRank Developer Skills Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?

Being able to blast out take-home assessments to a class of potential interns is vital! It makes our lives so much easier when we can use the integration with SmartRecruiters to just filter the results we're looking for. The latest SR integration enhancement was fantastic! Interviewers can just click the link from the candidate profile-- that's been a huge win recently as well, with fewer clicks or searching. The newer development testing tool is exactly what we needed to interview some higher-level candidates that wanted to think through problems, not necessarily execute code on every line. There's some improvement there to be done but we're feeling more "free" with this test type. The whiteboard is still a fan favorite for those interviewers that miss that in-person experience of drawing on the board. What do you like best about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

I help manage the HackerRank relationship for our company. We are constantly in need of the best technical talent out there. While our team has used both assessments and interviews, the interviews platform is truly the most valuable part of the platform for our current needs. It allows our teams to have time with the candidates in a remote experience but also be able to dial in on their skill set, making sure they are right for the role they are interviewing for. If there have ever been any issues their support team and customer success teams have been quick to respond and they really value our partnership overall. What do you like best about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

HackerRank is easy to use and flexible. We have been able to create multiple tests using the questions already in the HackerRank database, but we also have the capability to create our own questions. The candidates get the test instantly upon us sending it via the system. We just enter their email address and click send. The rest is taken care of. Set up was easy. At first, we created tests that the candidates had a hard time passing because some of the questions were too hard. But we were able to recalibrate and found that there is an insights tab that tells you how many candidates have passed that particular question, so we were able to find questions candidates were more likely to get right.
